If you are staying in Urubamba this is the place! It is an absolutely beautiful home! Ruth seemed very nice though she was a bit busy with work. Her Mom was there and took very great care of us. They gave us a fun tour of their garden and made us a great breakfast. I do wish there was wifi but they are very knowledgeable of the area and are very willing to help get you what you need. They had a friend who took us around to do a tour of the sacred valley at a reasonable price. Overall, this was my favorite placed we stayed while in Peru!

Let me put it this way, Ruth and her family definitely made our Peru trip memorable. This is most authentic rural yet comfortable experience I have ever had. This place isn't for everyone, but if you really want to experience the daily Peruvian life, Ruth and her family is way to go. We were lucky enough to walk around with Ruth's mother. Oh man, it is probably one of the best views we have seen in Peru. Anyways, if I ever come back to Sacred Valley, I will definitely stay with Ruth again!

We stayed three nights with Ruth and her family. The house is beautiful and well-appointed, and Ruth and her family are very kind and accommodating. Our room was clean and we had the shared bathroom to ourselves as there were no other guests staying there. Breakfast was delicious (coffee, tea, juice, bread and condiments, fried/scrambled eggs), and we also had two great fireside dinners at their house for a reasonable additional fee, when we didn't feel like going out. The only challenges are the location (20 minute walk from the highway or 5 minutes by mototaxi, 3-5 soles) and the lack of wifi (10-15 minute walk to nearby cafe), which for us were no big deal. We would definitely stay here again should we come to Urubamba in the future.

5 Star Lodgings! Don't let the dirt road on the way in fool you. This family works in hotel & tourism industry & have set up their home to reflect a hotel experience. Bathrobes, slippers provided, tastefully decorated bedroom with warm bedding, hot water in large modern bathroom, excellent breakfast with fresh ingredients. What a lovely surprise on our trip so far. Cozy common areas surrounded by gardens. Ruth, her husband & mom were all very welcoming & helpful. S/5 moto taxi to main square. Helped us arrange tours all the way back to Cusco. Only Ruth speaks English but all are very helpful. Great place to stay in Urubamba! Thanks Ruth & family, we wish you well!

My husband and I stayed at Puñuna Wasi for 2 weeks and spent most of our time at the property. Eufracia, Ruth and Roger were exceptional hosts: very kind, accommodating and helpful. This is a genuine and authentic homestay. We felt like we were a part of the family and we enjoyed having our own space as well as engaging with the family. This is a great way to learn about Peruvian culture, the Urubamba area, whilst also having a tranquil and peaceful environment to bask in their backyard, if you wish - the view is phenomenal. The family was very kind to allow us to use their well equipped kitchen each day and we were even blessed to have a meal cooked by Roger, whom is a chef - it was absolutely delicious! Also, breakfast is included and it is fantastic: bread, eggs, cereal, condiments, teas, coffee and fruit juice (please note that you have to buy your own drinking water). We highly recommend this place for anyone who wants their own quiet time, but also easy walking access to the town of Urubamba and around a community. Please know that although there is internet included at the property via a USB modem, it is extremely slow. If you need to use the internet during your stay, there is a wonderful, family-friendly, vegetarian-friendly cafe about a 15 min walk away called Kaia Shanay. Eufracia, the mother of the host, Roger is there most of the time taking care of her grandson but does not speak any English - when Ruth is there, however, she is able to speak English. Thank you, Puñuna Wasi for a refreshing experience in the Sacred Valley.

Ruth, her husband, her mom, and even Ruth's very young son, were all great hosts! Be sure to get Ruth's mom to take you for a walk or two, because then you will realize what a "living" neighborhood you are in. All three adults are great cooks, so I am guessing Ruth's son will be a good cook some day as well. I highly recommend staying here as you will have a wonderful sense of being part of their family, and the bigger family of Peru.

Urumbamba is a beautiful town nestled in the Sacred Valley. Unfortunately, during our stay there we were a bit sick. Thankfully, Ruth and her family went above and beyond to make us feel accommodated by making us tea. The house and family are beautiful. We ate breakfast (fresh eggs, bread, juice and coffee) in their stunning garden. They showed us around the area upon arrival and set us up to take classes (ceramics and chocolate making) in the area. You can also take a class on how to make chicha. They allowed us access to their kitchen as well. The bed and room were very comfortable. Highly recommend.
