Pickwick cottage is a beautiful and unique listed Georgian property in heart of the historic location of Old Town Poole.
It is understood to be the smallest cottage in the town.
It has recently been refurbished to a beautiful standard but maintains many of its original features. It is a perfect destination for a historic romantic retreat, short getaway or even a business stopover.
Pickwick Cottage is set over three levels. The the ground floor consists of a spacious new kitchen with induction hob, oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher.
The shower room and separate cloakroom are on the ground floor.
The lounge has original Georgian features and has been decorated in the style of that period.
It also has a digital television with fast broadband internet access with wifi at the property.
The property has a very small and charming old staircase to the first and top floor.
The bedroom is light and airy featuring a king size comfortable bed and French door to the sun terrace decked balcony kitted out with seating and a table.
There is a top floor room which has fitted wardrobe and a sofa bed.
We feel this modern room is best used as a relaxation room or to accommodate other guests (please see house manual for more detail).
It had fitted wardrobes and can even be used as a dressing room.
There is an iron at the property and an ironing board in the garage which can be made available if required.
There is a small courtyard with a small table and chairs.
It is important to be away that this property is not suitable for young children or very elderly/disabled because of the original small and winding staircases to the upper rooms.
The whole property (with the exception of the garage) is included in the rental.
Access to the laundry facilities in the garage can be made available for lettings of a week or longer.
The parking space for Pickwick is at the rear of the property and easily accessed.
If additional parking is required then we can negotiate using the garage space. Access to the parking is via a small one way system through the Old Town.
There is a small courtyard (safe and enclosed) at the rear of the kitchen .
The property is accessed via a key in the key safe.
Interaction with guests
Andrew will be happy to meet guests on arrival if required and is available on the telephone easily.
We live only twenty minutes away and would be happy to help and advise as best we can. We are always around as we have lots of animals that we look after in our small holding near Wimborne.
We have lots of local knowledge particularly for guests keen to explore the surrounding areas - we can advise on local walking, cycling, horse riding etc.
We can also advise on where to eat etc but the choice is endless- the cottage is in the midst of the bustling quayside but its location is a little like stepping back in time.
Other things to note
Guests will find essentials such as tea, coffee, milk in the kitchen as well as other creature comforts.
Additional essentials could be provided by arrangement if required such as breakfast.
A variety of supermarkets are within walking distance and a whole host of excellent eateries.
We would like guest to enjoy Pickwick Cottage and feel comfortable there.
It is in a central position and we would like guests to respect their neighbours re noise levels etc .
It is a unique, quirky property and guests , we hope, would understand that.
We would prefer guests to be non smoking.
