V Salon, All Saints Catholic Church, CVS, Dragon City Restaurant, Torino Pizza & Pasta, Mani de Leo Hair Salon, Fiorello Bakery & Deli, Courtney's Salon, DC's Pizza, Maggie's Sports Bar & Cafe, Roman Jewels, Pixie Hair Salon, Barcelona Restaurant-Wine Bar, KeyBank, CityLine Bar and Grill, Escape Smoke Shop, Best Western Hotel, Casa Real Mexican Restaurant, Days Inn, Dunkin Donuts, Across the Street Pub and Restaurant, Starbucks.

On the North side of Western we have in order from East to West:
Sunoco Gas, University Plaza (Rite Aid, PizzaHut, DiBella's Subs, Boston Market, Wine & Liquor, Uncommon Grounds Coffee & Bagels, Pet Supplies Plus, Subway, Mobile Gas, Mobile Mart), University of Albany, Miami Sun Tanning.

There's a lot to like about Albany's Eagle Hill.

For starters, the historic neighborhood, which sits south of Western Avenue (State Route 20) between Tryon Street and State Route 85, is a great location if you work in Albany -- and particularly if you work in one of the buildings on the W. Averell Harriman State Office Building Campus or at the University at Albany. Eagle Hill is just west of the State Office Campus and just east of UAlbany's uptown campus; it's about a 5-minute commute to either from the neighborhood's furthest reaches. It's also close to the College of Saint Rose, St. Peter's Hospital and Albany Medical Center.

Eagle Hill is a tranquil, pretty place with narrow, tree-lined streets and small city lots with a mix of housing styles. You'll find cottages, Cape Cods, brick ranches and raised ranches, split-level houses and bungalows. The area also offers easy access to public transportation and is close to synagogues, churches, and downtown eateries and nightlife.

Eagle Hill take's it name from the Historic Hill and Landmark Cemetery (mid-1800s through mid-1900s) on Western Avenue just West of the Harriman State Office Campus entrance.

The Eagle Hill section of Albany was originally almost exclusively undeveloped land, which was later divided up and sold off as garden plots to immigrants living in downtown Albany who used it to plant gardens and vineyards. Eventually many of these same people, having been displaced by construction of the Empire State Plaza, built homes here and part of the area acquired the nickname "Little Italy."
