Beautiful area
This home is in a scenic location.
With uninterrupted views over the stunning rolling hills of the Dorset countryside, the Shepherds Hut is set in 11 acres of Wynards Farm a small holding. Get cosy with the log burning stove and wake up to a beautiful sunrise
The space
Stay cool in the shepherd's hut, Made from wood with insulation it manages to stay reasonably cool.
New for 2026 is Bess my pony.
Bess is 13.3 h.h. black with a white blaze who loves to be fed hay from the hand and stroked.
As our glamping field is in an elevated position on chalk, it has not been affected by the heavy rain and floods. It is ready for guests arrival.
The Shepherds Hut is set in 11 acres with uninterrupted views over the rolling hills of the Dorset countryside. The hut has a small kitchen with hob, sink and fridge. A woodburning stove to get cosy in the evening. A private wetroom with Separett Villa 9000 eco-toilet and shower next door. There is a BBQ and fire pit to spend lovely quiet evenings outside under the stars with no light pollution.
Guest access
There is parking close by to the hut and space for storing bikes. We are up a track and there are footpaths and bridle ways that leave straight from the property.
Other things to note
I have decided not to increase prices this year, instead charging for logs.
This keeps the price down for guests not using many or any logs.
The logs are different for the woodburning stove, barbeque and seperate firepit.
The charge is £7.00 per type of log per bag/bucket. These can be ordered in advance or during your stay (cash payment only)
A folder is provided for guests with many suggestions of places to eat and things to do. I can also offer use of our freezer for ice blocks and have cool bags for guests to borrow.
PLEASE BE AWARE THERE IS NO WIFI CONNECTION TO THE SHEPHERD'S HUT.
Dogs are welcome and there is a charge per dog per night.

From the host
I love where I live here at Wynards Farm. I have been here 38 years. It is quite unique being a little bit off the beaten track but close to the local amenities. You can walk to the pub a mile away or the village shop half a mile which has a great stock of local produce. Winfrith is a traditional, picturesque village. The views are wonderful and you can watch the sunset from the back of the property on the small decking view point. Or wake up to the sunrise over the church tower. We are not far from the famous Jurassic coast featuring Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove just a 5 minute drive. Monkey World and The Tank Museum are ten minutes away. The Saxon walled town of Wareham, Thomas Hardy's Dorchester and the beaches of Weymouth are fifteen minutes away. We are a very quiet location.
Please note only one dog allowed in the Shepherd's Hut due to space.

Meet your host
My family and I have been living at Wynards Farm for 38 years, having moved east 2 1/2 miles from Owermoigne.
I never tire of the wonderful location and feel very fortunate to enjoy my home so much. Ray, my husband, and I decided to take things easier and our daughter, Annabel, and her family now live in the farmhouse and I am in a smaller property at Wynards Farm.
Sadly, Ray has passed away, but I am still here running my small glamping site.
