I am an out going, approachable lady who has lived in the area most of my life. I enjoy travelling the UK as well as the rest of the world and have experienced many countries and their cultures. I am a trained Blue Badge Guide for Cumbria and have exceptional knowledge of Cumbria and the Lake District through which i regularly take guided groups out for tours to share my knowledge and educate people on this beautiful part of the world. I have a love for animals. George is the hostel cat (Ginger George) who lives in the hostel and is very relaxed and loves finding the warm spots. I also have a black Labrador called Masie who is always around me.
Me and my daughter have run the hostel since 2011 when the YHA decided to sell the property. We have a passion for our work and also wish every guest the best experience possible.
