Our cabin is close to local art and culture, excellent restaurants and pubs, cosy coffee shops, outdoor sports, and family-friendly activities. Our guests love the peaceful location, natural ambiance, and the beautiful scenery. Country Retreats is perfectly suited for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets) who love the outdoors.

The space

Our Log Cabin is built from imported Finnish Pine, and is one of a group of ten on a six acre site. These are all individually owned, some of which are also rented out. Often you will be the only guests, making it an extra peaceful experience.

Guest access

You will have the cabin all to yourselves during your visit. All beds are made up, each guest has two towels and the kitchen has t-towels. The kitchen is fully kitted out - I doubt there is anything missing from the inventory, but please let us know if we have missed something so we can add it for when you come back!

Interaction with guests

We will be available at the end of a phone should you need any help. There is a Site Manager who has an extra set of keys, just in case - her details are displayed inside the Cabin.

Other things to note

There are 24 hour Asda, Tesco and Morrisons stores in Perth (30 mins by car), and a smaller Co-Op, Sainsbury's and Tesco open until 10pm in Dunkeld (5 mins by car) or Blairgowrie (15 mins by car). You can arrange grocery deliveries to the Cabin from Asda or Tesco.
Mobile phone and internet signal is variable on the site, some networks have better coverage than others.
Many outdoor activities are available in the local area. Fishing can be booked at Butterstone Loch. We have provided brochures in the Cabin with more information.
There is a defibrillator in the phone box in the village.

Come here for beautiful surroundings, the sound of birdsong and water, deer, rabbits and air so fresh lichens grow in the trees. The cabin is pretty, in a lovely situation, very clean, well equipped, cosy and homely. We wished we had a longer trip booked, the children were elated and it felt really peaceful and romantic. The local area is stunning especially if you like waterfalls, paddling and lakes.

We do love our special place and we hope everyone who visits enjoys it as much as we do - you certainly fit into that category. Thankyou again for your kind words and we look forward to hosting you again sometime soon for an extended stay - come in the Spring for a chance to see the red squirrels. :)

Great place to stay, very relaxing and exactly what you expect from the information provided. Fantastic guidance on directions and easy to find even though we arrived in the dark. The information provided by Morag and Graeme was very helpful with this. The extra little touches around the Log Cabin are very noticeable and as our stay was between Christmas and New Year we appreciated the miniature Christmas tree which was very welcoming alongside the added extras of a few essential groceries. Definitely a must visit place.

Fantastic lodge and very well presented. Graeme and Morag were lovely hosts and answered any messages almost immediately. The lodge itself was lovely and secluded (which was what we wanted) and the kids had an amazing time playing in the river, going on walks and collecting conkers. I would definitely recommend it!

Great communication from the host in advance of stay. The cabin was perfect for a quiet break, private and peaceful in lovely surroundings. Not too far from Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Birnham. Great accommodation, I felt right at home, it was very comfortable, clean and cosy. We appreciated all the extras provided in the kitchen and late check-out.
