Located in our apple orchard overlooking the River Cuckmere is Woodpecker Hill, one of two Shepherds Huts.

Heating, a flushing toilet, hot shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a view that won’t disappoint. The king size bed folds away easily to allow more space should you need it.

Reconnect around the firepit and look up at the stars, or simply spend some time by yourself. Enjoy the lovely setting of this idyllic spot in nature.

The space
The Shepherds Hut has a king size bed that pulls down and can easily be put away to provide additional space inside.

Guest access
The accommodation is for your sole use during your stay

Other things to note
The firepit (as well as other items) are extra's and payable separately. There is a minimum of 2 nights for weekend stays.
We are in a quiet residential location and therefore may not be suitable for larger groups.

We do have a private hire licence so I am able to pick up and collect from local train stations and the area for a set fee, subject to availability.

There is one car parking space per Shepherds Hut on site.

We do have some extra’s on site (subject to availability), please do let us know if you would like us to prepare these ahead of your stay. Happy for you to let me know once the weather forecast is more reliable:

*Firepit/BBQ hire for the duration of your stay - includes a sack of wood and accessories £22.50 (For safety we ask that there are no outside fires without the firepit please). Do let us know if you would like some marshmallows or some of our own sausages – we have a pack of 6 at £5, 2 burgers for £3 and unsmoked bacon for £4.50, for you to enjoy on the BBQ or take home
*Additional bag of dry logs £8.50
*Fresh local eggs £2.50 (6 eggs), or 2 for £1. Please do leave the egg box in the cabin so that we can fully recycle - we are only offering these on site through the autumn/winter months as ‘the girls’ slow down laying
*Light breakfast – a croissant, butter portion and small jam £2.75
*Breakfast Box - 6 sausages, 6 bacon, 6 eggs, mushrooms, 2 tomatoes, baked beans, small loaf, sauces £26.25
*Toastie breakfast - 6 eggs, mushrooms, 2 tomatoes, baked beans, small loaf, butter , sauces £17.50
*BBQ Box - 6 sausages, 4 burgers, 4 buns, sauces £20.50
*Home made jams, chutneys and marmalade £3.50 – options vary, please enquire for details
*Perello olives (Gordal Picante) £6.50
*Freshly pressed apple juice from our own orchard £3.50 per litre or 3 for £10
*Lightly Sparkling Apple & Raspberry Juice - £2.00 per can
*We also have a new dog treat menu
*Early Check-In from 2.30pm - £15 (on request - subject to availability – please confirm ahead of your stay)
*Late Check-Out , stay until midday - £15 (on request - subject to availability – please confirm ahead of your stay)
*Bouquets of flowers available ready for your arrival from £35 – please confirm any specific requirements
*We offer electric car charging to our guests by invitation and charge a per kwh rate
*Well behaved dogs are welcome for an additional £5 per dog per night (2 small dogs/1 medium are suitable for the hut)
