Property's abt 45mins to an hour drive from ACC Airport. A family home sharing room in their house. Free breakfast, but lunch, supper and laundry service are upon request. Part of your booking goes to African Widows&Disabled Foundation

The space

I like aviation, decoration, painting etc so in my room i did the painting myself and i have decorated the room to my own taste so do not be surprised to see toy airplane, and other travel related stuff in the room. There is one standing fan in the room to keep you cool because Ghana is warm all year round. There is a big porch you can sit to take in cool air as you relax by reading a book. Kitchen is not furnished as there is still some work to do there. For this reason, please try to fit in with the way we use the kitchen. Alternatively you can request and i will cook for you as i am a good cook. I have stayed in the United Kingdom before so i know how to make some intercontinental dishes however it would be fun to learn from you as you make your own cuisine. There are 3 dogs and two cats ....yeah in my house we all love animals so don't worry if you want to come with your pet. The dogs keep watch at night. There is a big water tank which supplies the house with water but there is no pump to distribute water in the house so we fetch directly from the tank though we plan to connect pump to tank soon but do not worry about the water cos I'll make there's always water in the washroom. There is hospital, police station, community library and a fire station all within 15mins drive from home. Achimota mall or retail centre is about 25mins drive from home and abt 30mins drive to Kotoka International Airport. 20mins drive to the nearest ATM

Guest access

The room offered to you is fully accessible to you. The toilet and bathroom will be shared with me and my brother.
There is shampoo, cleaned towels, flip flops to walk around the house, soaps, hair dryer, disinfectant, tissues etc
There is water dispenser for hot and warm water if you want tea or coffee.
Because the house is not fully furnished there is no washing machine but i can wash with my hands as that is what the average Ghanaian does to keep clothes clean but this is upon request

Interaction with guests

I will be available for help throughout your stay. If i cannot be around for any reason i will let you know in advance and ask my brother to take care of you till i get back and my absence would only be a few hours. We are a very friendly family and we would be very happy to take you in as part of the family during your stay with us.
There is a lot i would love to know and learn from people with different culture and background and your stay will make that happen so i am counting on you.

You have any question, please do not hesitate to ask me, Cheers!

Other things to note

Like i said before, i am a travel agent and i can make your stay even more enjoyable by offering to take you to tour Accra or outside Accra if you choose. There are interesting tour sites in Ghana and i would love to be the one to show you around.

MY STAY WITH YAA AND FAMILY This was my third visit to Ghana, I have always gone self-catering, that was my intention on this, my third visit to Ghana, but I came across (URL HIDDEN) website by accident, while scanning the internet for accommodation. So I came across a young woman by the name of Yaa, near the area of Amasaman and took an instant liking to her straight away. She is small and finely built, with eyes full of confidence and after spending time at her family home, I have come to realize, she is a mentally strong and spiritual woman. I was introduced to her mother, brother, cousin and her fiancée. I booked Yaa’s family home for a month because I wanted a base which was like home away from home, as I was traveling around Ghana for most of my stay. On my first evening Yaa cooked me a beautiful egg omelet with sardines and bread, which went down very well and unexpected, considering meals were not in the agreed price, so I took this as a Akwaaba (welcome) supper. When I came back from Cape Coast I asked Yaa about the meals, weather they were included in the price, she replied no. So I told her I liked her cooking and wanted to pay for the meals while I was there, we came to an agreement and their pricing was very economical and fair. From Friday to Sunday. Yaa is willing to do your laundry on the family’s laundry days, for an agreed fee between you and her. There are electrical sockets in the room for charging your mobile phone and camera. Her brother will pickup the baton when she is working or out, he is willing to ensure that you know your way around by accompanying you to the hub of the transport system, showing you the main tro-tro (Commercial vehicle) station to where you will be living, telling you where you get off and where to cross the road for your next change of transport to, let’s say Kumasi, Tema, Accra or Tamale, as well as other destinations. Yaa’s Mother is very funny once you start getting to know her, she will also be cooking for you, her English is limited but her humor comes through, which makes you warm to her, she cooks a tasty jollof rice with tiny noodles and vegetables. Things that this family could improve on would be harsh and unfair, because they are only minor things that are not worth mentioning. This is a really nice family with a very respectful manner towards people, all they ask from you in return is the same, nothing more nothing less. I would recommend this family home for all single travelers, especially those who will be visiting Ghana for the first time. This will be a great introduction to getting to understand Ghanaian culture as well as living with a real Ghanaian family. Love ya Yaa and your family ☺ Wayne
