Sustainable Guesthouse immersed in a working ranch, located at 10 km from charming and traditional San Antonio de Areco town.
Open green spaces, renewable energies, organic veggie garden, healthy home-made food, horse riding, and bicycles.
Magic sunsets, starred skies.
An ease for your senses.

This is bedroom “Fuego”, with an ample Shared Bathroom (for private bathroom see listing titled "Agua").

The space

An old and unique country house located in the middle of the "pampas", surrounded by fields, cattle and crops. Old big trees provide a beautiful shade and a home for many birds.

The house was restored preserving its historical value and combining sustainable home attributes: solar energy for electricity and water heating, wastewater biological treatment, low energy consumption, and reuse of the original materials.

We are located on a dirt road: with wet weather it gets muddy and is only accessible by 4WD. But don´t worry - we will provide the transport service on rainy days, a real adventure!

Guest access

Breakfast and dinner (dish of the day) are included. We cook home made food with our own and/or local produce. We also offer beverages and lunch options.

You will enjoy a wide green park, two porches and living room accessible for all guests. Books and games available as well.
There is a small river nearby at walking distance and a few walking tracks.
Horse riding is highly recommended as a beautiful way of exploring the area (check out rates).
Other activities include bicycles, bow and arrow shooting and enjoying a typical wood-fired "Asado" for lunch.

Interaction with guests

We are available during your stay.

I had a fantastic time at Mercedes and Mateo's place. Their house is beautiful, very well decorated and really comfortable. Their are amazing hosts, generous and very friendly. They provide breakfast as well as lunch and dinner if you wish to, all made with locally sourced products. I wish I could have stayed longer. I highly recommend their place!!

The place was really romantic and beautiful, surrounded by miles of countryside. There are animals living on such as horses, cats and a dog. We have tried horse riding for the first time and Mercedes made it an unforgettable experience. Matteo cooking was also very delicious and worth a Michelin star :) The lack of wifi helped us to reset. Highly recommended!

Rancho is really an amazing place! The house itself is beautifull, and the garden and surroundings are increadible. We really enjoyed our two nights thanks to the lovely hosts Mercedes and Matteo. It's a great place to relax. When lying down in the hammack we allready saw several bird species! We did the horse ride, a very peacefull way to enjoy the pampas. The place is out of town but in this case that is really a plus. Don't worry about food; Mercedes and Matteo prepare delicious meals for a good price. When we wanted to go to town they helped us with arranging a taxi. In San Antionio de Areco the gaucho museum is very nice to visit. This is the first time in all my years of Airbnb use that I with no doubt would reward a place with 5 stars! Definitely worth it :-)

Mercedes and Matteo were great hosts! They have made a little paradise on the Pampa near Areco. Had a fun horse ride with Mercedes and enjoyed Matteo's Italian kitchen skills. Definitely worth staying here if you want to get away from it all.

Mercedes and Matteo are wonderful hosts. Their "quinta" is a beautiful place. If you're after relaxation and tranquility, this is the place for you. The only sounds are birdsong, cows mooing and horses neighing. They've lovingly restored the house, which dates back to the mid-19th century. Not to mention how lovely it is to stay in a sustainably run guesthouse. Not only are they kind and welcoming, they've got a keen eye for detail. The photos do not do the house justice. Go and see it yourself! Oh, and I've seen more wildlife on their property than in a good few nature reserves I've been too: otters, partridges, lizards, birds of prey. Fantastic!

My 3 night stay at Raucho was a fabulous end to my 5 week holiday in Argentina - only wish I could have stayed longer! I loved the tranquility and lushness of the rural setting and the rustic charm of the restored farm house - it is exactly like the photos. There were other guests during my stay and various outdoor living areas provided privacy to relax undisturbed. Loved the food especially the home made pasta and bread. Mercedes and Mateo are delightful hosts, and made me feel part of their family. The highlight was my opportunity to go horse riding when cattle work was being done.
