Outside there is a patio table which seats 4, adirondack chairs for lounging or star-gazing. Quail Rock holds the history of the Mono Native Americans. The dozen or so holes carved into the rock were used by the Mono people to grind acorns into flour!

Other things to note
Purified drinking water is provided for drinking and cooking. Tap water in Oakhurst is not recommended for drinking, but is safe for bathing and cleaning. There is an additional faucet on the kitchen sink with purified water for drinking and cooking.
Again, there is currently no cable TV, or internet/WiFi.
We ask that you respect the neighbors and refrain from excessively loud outdoor noise, music and talking after 10pm. Also, please note that there is absolutely NO smoking allowed in the house or around the property. Years of drought have forced counties and towns in the area to enforce an outdoor-smoking ban due to high-fire danger. Lastly, please help us with water conservation. It really is a precious resource here in the mountains. Enjoy that hot shower on your vacation, but do it for just a few minutes less. Please use the water-saving setting on the dishwasher.
We hope you enjoy your stay!
I'm an avid outdoor adventurer with a love for mountains, beaches and all the beauty of nature in between. I grew up hiking with my family all through Yosemite and still love it to this day!
My husband, Dan and I love to hike, bike, paddle and entertain our friends and family. We try to get up to Quail Rock, our home in Oakhurst, CA as often as possible. Our first Airbnb experience was an amazing week-long trip to Costa Rica. Our host was the most sincere, kind and friendly woman. We hope to be as gracious of hosts as she was.
Quail Rock is truly a magical property. It only takes about 5 minutes of sitting on the giant, ancient granite boulders out front to feel it. Pocked with Mono-native grinding holes, Quail Rock harkens back to bygone days of humans living harmoniously with the land. Whether you need a break from the hustle and bustle, a place to recharge your batteries, quality time with loved ones or a nature-retreat to clear the mind, a couple nights at Quail Rock is just good for the soul. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
