The yurt cabin is a perfect glamping experience to view the stars where it’s quiet and dark. It’s located in Madison County, NC on its own private knob with Mountain Views. It’s a spacious 30ft yurt that sleeps 6. It’s off-grid with solar power, outdoor shower, composting toilet and outhouse, wood stove, mini fridge, Coleman stove, Breeo fire pit, and chairs. Only 20 minutes north of Asheville, 10 minutes west of Weaverville, 10 minutes from Marshall, and 30 minutes from Hot Springs.

The space
The yurt cabin is an open floor plan with 706 sq ft. It is off-grid with solar power. It has rope lighting and electrical outlets. It has table and chairs, 2 queen beds, 4 cots, pillows, plush throws, and towels. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SLEEPING BAGS AND MATTRESS PADS (cots only). The kitchen area has a Coleman stove, dish ware, utensils, cups, mugs, cleaning supplies, mini fridge, electric kettle for French press coffee and tea. We supply fresh well water in water dispensing container. And ice. It has a wood stove. There is a Breeo fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs. You can cook on the fire pit or on the Coleman stove. There is a separate shower house with propane heated shower using rainwater collected, sink and composting toilet. There is a separate outhouse to use as well.

The property is up a gravel mountain drive, so an AWD IS RECOMMENDED. You are free to roam the property, but please wear bug repellent to repel ticks and mosquitoes. Also, check yourself for ticks afterwards. Our 15 acre property is an old beef farm, so be careful of barbed wire. There are all kinds of wildlife including deer, turkey, coyotes, fox, bear, and birds galore. It’s a happy peaceful place. You can walk on the road since there is little to no traffic.

The yurt cabin is conveniently located 20 minutes north of Asheville, 10 minutes west of Weaverville, 10 minutes from Marshall, and 30 minutes from Hot Springs. The French Broad River is a 5 minute drive. It is close to hiking, paddling, breweries, and restaurants.

The yurt cabin is a great place to breathe fresh mountain air, exhale and relax. We love it here and so will you.

Please call me with questions or issues.

Guest access
You are welcome to use the entire yurt cabin, Breeo fire pit, shower house and outhouse. You may roam the property, but please wear insect repellent to repel ticks and mosquitoes. Check yourself for ticks when you return. Make sure your dogs are on flea and tick prevention. Flea and tick shampoo is available as well as insect repellent. It’s a remote area with lots of wildlife.

Other things to note
The off-grid experience is unique in that you will use energy from the sun to power the yurt cabin. Solar energy is collected with solar panels, then stored in lithium batteries. You can monitor your energy usage in real time. You will become aware of how it is possible to live off the grid. It’s a very hopeful feeling to live sustainably and combat climate change even just a little.
