Description

The space

Recently renovated, this flat is situated on the second floor (with lift) of an old, converted warehouse right behind the City Chambers. Overlooking the gardens of the Ramshorn Theatre, it is spacious, extremely quiet and has fabulous light!

Guest access

Guests have access to all areas in the flat. The large hallway leads to a welcoming living/dining room with a comfy sofa-bed. The open plan kitchen has plenty of storage and all the cooking utensils you need. The bedroom has a king size bed and a large built-in wardrobe.

Interaction with guests

We are only a text away and very happy to offer advice on where to go, whether you are looking for a place to eat or something to visit. I will meet you at the flat on arrival so that I can show you around the flat and answer any question.

The neighbourhood

The flat is situated in a vibrant part of the city and there is so much to explore around the area:
- GOMA, Glasgow's modern art gallery at the end of Ingram St;
- Merchant Square and the Merchant City where you will find a plethora of bars, coffee shops, restaurants...
- the Barras and its market at the weekend;
- Glasgow Green, the largest park in Glasgow, where you will find the People's Palace;
- the School of Art, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh;
- and lots more...

Getting around

The flat is ideally situated to visit Glasgow and the surrounding areas. The main two train stations are within walking distances (Queen Street station is 5 mins away from the flat; Glasgow Central, 10 mins). The main coach station, Bucchanan Street station, is also a 10-min walk. The nearest underground station, Bucchanan Street, is a short 5-min walk from the flat. From there, it is a 10-min ride to the West End of Glasgow (the area around Glasgow University that is filled with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, independant shops...). Finally, the airport is a 15-min ride by taxi and less than half an hour by coach (service 500).
If you require parking there is plenty of street-parking available around. Though it can be expensive and time limited. It is generally free between 6pm & 8am (check at the meter to be sure though). Q-Park is a multi storey car park on Albion Street that is reasonable or there is a small car park around the corner from the flat on Ingram St. It's £9 for 24 hours.

Other things to note

All linen and towels are provided; there is plenty for breakfast waiting for you at the flat in the kitchen, including tea, coffee, bread and croissants.

Yann's greeted us at the flat and was very helpful upon check in. We were able to find nearby parking, and flat is perfectly located for sightseeing in Glasgow. We found everything very comfortable, and we were even provided with breakfast goodies. We were pleasantly surprised by the light filled rooms, comfort & location. I would not hesitate to return.

We are a French / Scottish couple living in Glasgow. We are friendly, sociable and like new experiences. Yann is a teacher in a Glasgow primary school whilst Garry is a freelance cameraman and photographer. We love films, especially indie or world cinema and the occasional American blockbuster. ;) We are also very fond of going to the theatre, the ballet or musicals. Yann loves cooking and video games (he is a bit of a geek); Garry spends most of his times editing his artwork...
