Other things to note
Please review the ferry schedule to Isla before booking your flights as boats do not run 24x7. Based on experience, recommend that you land no later than 8:00 p.m. in the evening & take off no earlier than 9:00 a.m. in the morning. On the way in, you'll need to account for time in Customs & baggage claim -- plus, your taxi or transfer to the ferry port. On the way out, you'll need to account for time on the ferry & your taxi or transfer back to the airport. Many airlines require you be there three hours before take-off.
Our house is your house & we are excited to have you. A long list of rules is very "un-Mexico." We simply ask that no more than 5 individuals stay in the apartment. And that you be mindful that it's in a condo building & therefore in shared property; apply common courtesy & keep late-night / early-morning noise to a minimum -- especially where the space in shared. Finally, we ask that you ENJOY & bring any concerns or questions you have to our attention immediately so that we may address them on-the-fly.
Note, events / parties can be held in the common area, which is on the roof deck, with advanced notice. All events / parties must wrap up at a courteous hour to ensure quiet for other guests who may be staying on the property.
Also note, while we are happy to have children, the condo does include a loft with an opening, a patio with glass barriers and long set of stairs. Neither strict occupancy code nor tort law apply in Mexico so plan accordingly.
My love affair with Isla Mujeres began in 2011, when I traveled with a friend and follow animal welfare volunteer to check out all the island has to offer. Since that time, I have made countless trips for a little business and a lot of fun -- and always to make a contribution(s) toward the island's veterinary clinic.
While I personally cannot live without family, friends and my beloved rescue cats, I adore the good food, good drinks and the company of locals wherever my travels take me (which is all 100% reach when you opt to spend a little or a lot of time on Isla Mujeres)!
On an even more personal note, I am a professional marketer who has worked for IBM for 20+ years. I also am a high-tech MBA from Northeastern University. I additionally am a board member and working volunteer for two non-profits focused on animal welfare and on low-cost spay-neuter programs specifically. Finally, I am resident of the greater Boston, Massachusetts and have called bean town my home since 1988; I am planning for a work relocation to Austin, Texas in November 2017 and am looking forward to the adventure!
