Serisawayawaya is located in a quiet village surrounded by rice paddies and mountains in northern Akita prefecture. It is the perfect place for those who want to be healed by the beautiful nature of Japan that changes with the seasons.

You can stay on the first floor of a 50-year-old house where a family of 5 lives.
The house is old, so it is hot in summer and cold in winter. Because it is surrounded by nature, bugs may enter the guest room. I hope you will enjoy the inconvenience of the countryside, which is different from the convenience of the city.

The bathroom is shared with the host family, so it may be cramped for stays of 3 or more people. There is a hot spring nearby, so I can show you if you'd like.

It is a room-only stay, and there are no restaurants within walking distance. Please eat or buy ingredients before you check in. We also offer a simple breakfast (onigiri, miso soup) free of charge if you request it at least two days before check-in.

You can use the kitchen shared with the host family. We do not sell drinks or food in the inn. Please buy what you need at the supermarket before you check in. 2 bikes are available for free.

The space
If you wish, we will pick you up and drop you off free of charge at Gokawa Station on the Akita Inland Railway (commonly known as the Inland Line).
(* Only at check-in and check-out. Please consult in advance if you want to pick up more than 5 people, up to a maximum of 4 people)
You will stay in part of a detached house where a family of 5 lives.
If you come by car, up to 3 7-seater wagons can park for free on the premises.
The guest rooms are 2 Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats (8 tatami mats x 2 = 16 tatami mats).
The grandfather, who is over 90 years old, is a very devout person. One of the guest rooms is a Buddhist room.
Because it is my grandfather's daily routine to change the offerings (rice, water) on the Buddhist altar, it may be for a very short time (about 3 minutes)
We may need to enter the room. (It is usually between 6 am and 7 am) Please understand.
The shoji, fusuma, and tatami mats in the Japanese-style room are delicate and easily get dirty or broken. If they are damaged,
we will charge you the repair fee (actual cost + handling fee).
Only drinks that can be closed with a lid, such as plastic bottles, are allowed in the guest room.
· There are no restaurants nearby, so we offer a free simple breakfast only to those who wish to have it.
If you'd like to, please let us know by the day before check-in.
(We do not sell juice or alcohol. Please buy them before you check in
  check-in.
Tap water is drinkable. Our family usually drinks it without heating it.
We lend out 2 bicycles for free. Please let me know if you'd like to use them.
Japanese giant salamanders are appearing in various places in Akita Prefecture. Please be careful when walking or cycling
Please be careful. (As a measure against bears, we lend bells free of charge.)
It is a natural environment. When walking, be careful of bears, snakes, bees, etc.

Guest access
The host family lives on the second floor.
Please use the guest room and common area on the first floor.

Depending on the season, you can experience simple farm work in the field right next to the accommodation. Please consult us in advance if you wish to do so.

I like to spend time with my guests
Hi there,I'm Dai. It's been over 9 years since I first used air b&b. My hobby is English conversation and international travel, and I have made a lot of fun memories in many countries. This time, I decided to use my parents' home where I was born and raised to open an accommodation for travelers who want to enjoy the Japanese countryside. The 50-year-old single-family house was built by my grandfather, a farmer.Surrounded by rice fields, Serizawa village is blessed with rich nature. You can experience the life of a farmer, where you can live with the natural blessings and the changing seasons, such as rice, water, and wild vegetables. The area is surrounded by mountains, so insects and beasts can also be found around the house. There may be insects in the house, but I hope you understand it as a farmer's daily life. I love traveling, Japanese food culture, and Akita's delicious sake.If you are interested in sake, please drink delicious drinks from Akita together and tell us memories of your trip. Enjoy the quiet and relaxing time in the countryside of Akita.
