Tree Tops is a rustic family cottage sitting in 2 acres of very private lawned gardens with a fantastic view of Port Navas creek and The Helford River. It is a hidden paradise for families with so much to explore, and close to Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens. We are dog friendly (for well behaved dogs!) and the garden is very safe for pets and children. The river, and yacht club are less than 100m away & there are wonderful coastal walks nearby.
"The best place for a family holiday I have ever been to". Mike. June 2017
There is now only one vacant week before October 2017. Sunday August 27 to Sunday September 3.
Tree Tops is a 1950s cottage. It is full of character, but not full of Laura Ashley soft fittings as it has just been our hideaway for our family holidays since 1943. Two of the six beds are blow up beds. This comfort level is factored into the price. It is clean, warm, and dry with a lovely real fire heating the sitting room. The view from the kitchen at breakfast time is of the valley and creek. Peaceful, unspoilt (pretty well unchanged for 70 years!), and unique. The gardens are mainly lawn with well kept flower beds. Ideal for families as it is well back and up from the lane, there is plenty of room for ball games and to set up a badminton court. Behind the garden are private, unused woods (well, we use it to explore). In the early morning you will hear a beautiful dawn chorus, and see rabbits feeding at the top of the garden. At dusk you will hear and see owls emerging from the woods for their night time adventures.
A few reviews:
'We have enjoyed peace and tranquility in such beautiful surroundings and leave Tree Tops feeling recharged and rejuvenated! What a delightful cottage - so very comfy and cosy....loved every minute' Terry and Margaret, June 2016.
'Charming cottage in idyllic setting. Very well equipped and comfortable. Have enjoyed the rabbits in the garden, and a pheasant came calling too. Had an early morning call, usually at about 5.45, from a crow who thought it was a good idea to "knock" on the bedroom window!
This is my first time in Cornwall and there is lots to do and see from here and even the narrow lanes were not an issue after a day or so.
Would definitely recommend Tree Tops for a relaxing break'.
Sue, Vi, and Alan. May 2016.
Tree Tops has a magic all of its own - once seen always remembered. We have shared it for a few days and loved every minute. If you know of a better holiday let, you are fortunate indeed'. Sue and Colin, September 2016
The cottage is yours, but the attic rooms are not included as we cannot insure this area. 2 acres of lawn overlooking the Helford River allows families to relax, play, and explore in a large, safe, and beautiful environment. There is plenty of room for parking.
Interaction with guests
I live in Exeter, a couple of hours away. But the locals are very friendly and the gardener lives in the village is on hand for any help you may need, and to take you fishing if you are interested!
Other things to note
You will fall in love with the night sky, and the dawn chorus. You won't want to leave. We let it out by the week (changeover day is Sunday) but can do shorter periods outside of school holidays and in the low season. As Christmas day and New Years Day fall on Mondays we would be happy to negotiate a price for a stay including both. So please do ask.
Please leave it as you find it as best you can. We do have a cleaner at the end of your stay. Changeover day is Sunday
