The space

* New central heat/air installed 18 months ago.

* Arrangements can be made for daily maid services, if your party requires. Just ask.

* Beds will be furnished with new/masters linens.

*If your party has other needs, even if it's a an additional bed, please inquire. We may be able to work something out. (We also have a deluxe air mattress we can pull out of storage if you need it.)

This home was built over 100 years ago on one of the original plots for North Augusta staked out in the late 1880s. We are just as close to downtown Augusta as "The Hill" houses in Augusta proper. We are in what is known as Olde Towne North Augusta.

This house has amazing energy. On the third floor, it's tree top living at its best. The glass in the windows is original and watery.

We are the third family to live in the home. Previous owners used bricks from the old two-story smokehouse that was dismantled 30 years ago to make a wall by the driveway and a brick path in our side courtyard. The windows are original glass with behive insets. There are working pocket doors throughout the space. The home has three hot water heaters and three new HVAC central units.

Guest access

* You'll have access to everything. I'm a cook and baker and the kitchen is well equipped should you wish to use it. You may also use the grill. Our home is your home.

* Portacrib and changing table can be made available with warning; I can even leave a box of age appropriate toys out if you have a young one.

Interaction with guests

Jenny will be available via phone if you need anything. Brad will be in town (staying somewhere else) and will be available to help/answer questions when his work permits. He may even be working a couple of shifts at the Masters. You probably won't see him unless you need stitches.

Other things to note

We'll strive to meet your needs as best we can! If there's anything you, please don't hesitate to ask.

We had the pleasure of staying at Jenny & Brad's charming home during Masters week and it was the perfect house for our extended family. The kitchen was newly remodeled and that's where we spent most of our time. The southern-style front porch was lovely & relaxing as well. It was very spacious and we each had our own floor with plenty of room. Jenny & Brad are very gracious hosts and even left us baby equipment for our infant. We can't wait to return!

There's an old Lao Tzu quote that reads, “The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.” Well, we're the sort of people that, even with that quote in mind, still burn bright, burn hot. We love travel, good books, art, wine, and friends. I'm a writer and have been lecturing college English for 17 years. Brad works at the hospital, but when I met him over a decade ago he was a professional steeplechase jockey in Northern VA. He's got the heart of a lion and I've loved raising children with him. We started the family a bit later and have two littles now who keep us hopping. We don't get to travel as much due to kids and job, but we long for the time when grabbing a transatlantic flight won't be as difficult. Between the two of us, we've traveled extensively--Australia, Iceland, Europe, South America, China (we actually got engaged on a remote stretch of the Great Wall). We've also loved our airbnb experiences and would love to share our special home with you.
