Wayan and Ketut were kind, patient, and very responsive to any of our needs. They had no trouble setting up trips to local attractions, surfing lessons, and even got together a couple games of volleyball with some of the other locals. One night we had a fish barbecue where all of the guests got together with Wayan and his family and we sat there nearly all night having great food, drinks, and lots of laughs. This is a stay we will cherish a long time to come.

An excellent value for a two-bedroom villa in Bali. Away from the tourists and dizziness of the larger cities, and only five minute walk to a beautiful stretch of uncrowded beach. Be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk on the beach and uphill to get to the village, and for the rustic open-air atmosphere that comes with living on a rice terrace. Wayan does provide a scooter for his guests, but we chose not to use it only because we are unfamiliar with driving scooters and international driving in general. The ocean has great waves for playing in or surfing, and the village has a friendly atmosphere. The house is well equipped with a good kitchen and the host prepares very good breakfast for his guests. There are many options for visiting other parts of Bali from this location, but be prepared for one to two hour drive to most destinations. Wayan, Made, and Ketut are all very attentive to the guests and will help in any way they can. We had a very peaceful and fulfilling visit to this tranquil spot.

This place is great. There are a number of options for the type of accommodation. We stayed in a house with a second suite in the same unit the kitchen is shared. When we were there, we had the whole place to ourselves. We had to get in late and Ketut met us after sundown and took us and walked us up through the rice fields. Wayan came and cooked us breakfast in the mornings and we ate on the deck looking down over the fields and people working. The bed was comfy, the shower is hot and the whole place has a wonderful relaxed vibe. It is a short walk to the black sand beach with town just across the river at low tide, with places for a snack and a drink right on the beach. Ketut teaches surfing nearby and the waves are great. An amazing spot. Thank you Wayan and Ketut!

Beautifull and romantic old javanese house, moved to the balian-ricefields were the host's father still tends his ricefields daily. Wayan is a caring host, he prepares good breakfast while his dogs happily roam about and his beautifull and witty young daughter that has yet to start at school shows off her skills in english. Ketut is a laid back local surfer, friendly and totally at ease. The downsides of this marvelous place: the noise of the trucks at night, on the mainroad. Out of sight but when the winds falls down at night not out of hearing. Also the road to the village is not nice for pedestrians due to heavy traffic and no sidewalks. You can easily go by the beach though, once you've figgured out where tot wade trough the shallow river. In the dry season that is.

The location is great, in a quiet area, close to the beach. The villa is really nice, authentic, exactly as described by the pictures, in a beautiful rice field. The place is really peacfull. It's a nice place to rest. It's just two minutes walk to Balian beach which is great for surfing or enjoying the excellent warung at Balian surf camp. Wayan and Ketut are excellent hosts. Very welcoming, kind and interesting people... and Wayan makes excellent breakfasts! We all enjoyed our stay there. The kids loved it. The only regret is that we should have stay longer...

We stayed for almost two weeks at Wayan's en Ketut's place (we stayed even longer because we liked it so much). We had a lovely time! Ketut prepared very nice breakfast according to our wishes (Indonesian, vegetarian, local). Every day was a surprise what we would get and every day it was delicious! The house is basic and comfortable, the beds have mosquito-nets and there are two hammocks on the veranda. The view from the house is beautiful overlooking ricefield. The beach is close by and amazing with black sand, lots of shells and big waves. The shore is shallow so even when the waves were big it was safe for the kids to play. Wayan and Ketut are involved in the local community and try to support it as much as possible. We would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Wayan and Ketut!

I was born and grew up in Balian, love animals and nature. been away for a while and now live in Balian. Try to keep Balian as it is and as it was. Supporting locals by bringing modern ideas without leaving local culture. Proudly, locally owned and managed.
