The space

Imagine....... what it was like to spend summers on the lake years gone by at this uniquely magnificent stone cottage originally part of a summer family estate. A stone cottage built in the style of a European castle in 1915 as a family summer lake house. Two acres of private property. Great room with fireplace and upper balcony, full kitchen, game room, dining room, master bedroom, two bedrooms with full size beds, one bedroom with twin bed, laundry, outdoor shower, 300 feet of lakefront, easy access to services by car. A place to gather everlasting memories..............Arise for a bike ride and return for a refreshing dip in beautiful Lake Champlain. Enjoy that morning cup of coffee in the courtyard overlooking the floral garden. Grab your book and read on the balcony overlooking the great room. Retreat to your recliner for some sun at the beach. Sun bathe, boat, play in the waters. Muster up some competition for croquet. Barbeque. Enjoy early evening chats with friends on the screened in porch. Roast marshmallows on a beach side fire. Share stories around the great room fireplace. Retreat to the comfort of your sleeping quarters. Imagine a summer get away at a magical place nearly a century old. Imagine........

Welcome to our summer home!!
Entry through the large white carriage house doors require lifting up on the black lever behind the left side door. Once open, the doors may be left open if secured with the provided stones. For our convenience, the screened porch entry door to the great room can be set to "unlocked" by pushing the lowest button on the edge of the door under the lock. The dining room screen door can be opened by pulling up on the door handle and pushing outward.
The lake house was built in 1915 so we treat it with loving care. No candle burning that drips on stone, other surfaces or furniture, please. Do not overload the electrical system. Secure doors and windows so they do not blow in the wind. Please do not rearrange the furniture.
Run water and flush toilets only when necessary. Please flush toilet paper only. Do not flush facial tissue, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, wipes of any kind, even those advertised as flushable, any type of cloth, etc.... No grease, oil, or food scraps down any drains.
Please no smoking inside the house.
No pets allowed.
In consideration of our neighbors, no loud music or disturbances.
Any fish should be cleaned outside the house.
No driving on lawns and park only in designated parking area.
Water shoes are recommended. Wet stone is slippery and there may be Zebra mussels.
Be cautious of poison ivy in wooded and tall grassy areas.
Children must be supervised at all times. Children and guests should stay within rental area grounds.
Bring your own water vessels, boats, canoes, kayaks. There is a dinghy available to access the mooring.
Down comforters are provided for cooler nights, fans for warmer nights.
Outdoor fires are permitted in the fire pit only. Please no fires on the lake ledge.
Dispose of all garbage and recycling in the designated trash and recycling receptacles.
Lawn mowing is typically done mid-week (weather permitting). Please pick up all lawn items to avoid damage to personal belongings and replace lawn furniture to its storage locations.
No camping allowed on the grounds.
Only in case of emergency, the electrical panel is located in the game room to the right of the entry door. The main water shut off is located in the game room next to the sink.
Property owner assumes no responsibility for articles, lost, stolen or damaged, or injury to persons.
When vacating the property, please:
Securely shut and lock all windows and doors.
Turn off all fans and electrical items.
Remove food from the refrigerator.
Wash all dishes.
Place soiled linens (sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc) in the laundry room.
Place garbage and recycling in the appropriate receptacles.

Our vacation at the castle on the lake was fantastic. The beauty and historic charm on the lake made for a most relaxing and fun vacation. The house was very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We loved the small town charm and found excellent restaurant options nearby. The location was great for finding great hiking, water activities, and scenic drives.

A remarkable old stone house on a beautiful property. The architecture is cool, the beds are comfortable, the dining room is fancy, the kitchen is fully functional, and the garden is an extra treat. Great location on the lake, with gorgeous sunsets. Easy access to Burlington as well. Deb and Dean did everything to make our stay pleasant and easy.
