Very rustic red barn in Matiatia Bay. Exterior - reclad & re-roofed. 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms. Not soundproof, kitchen has fridge, sink and one hot plate or use bbq for cooking, or just visit wonderful Waiheke cafes. 10 min walk to view of Auckland city. A 4 wheel drive is recommended but it is possible to drive a Sedan down the driveway now that it is concreted. It takes 5 mins walk around the rocks from the ferry terminal. No television, music via a 3mm jack.

The space
The Barn is a very basic but a comfortable place to stay if exploring the island. There is easy access to walks around the top Headland and when tide is out it is 5 mins walk to the Ferry Terminal which takes you to the CBD on the half hour. The production site is suitable for picnics higher up. The beach has oysters so swimming is better over the hill.

Where you’ll be

Auckland, New Zealand

Check out all the brochures at the terminal for activities, wonderful vineyards and great restaurants/cafes on the island. There are some great shots of Matiatia Bay on the terminal walls when it was a working farm area.
