At Eyjólfsstaðir we have offered sleeping bag accommodation with cooking facilities for 30 years. The house is originally built around 1900 and was the home of our family until 1978. The house is located 1,5 km from the main road (road no. 1).
The concept of sleeping bag accommodation is explained under house rules.

It was a great night in Hella guesthouse ! Not very easy to go when the weather is not good (lot of mist) but the place is amazing ! Hella was very nice with us, a pleasure to discuss with her and she gave us some tips about the road and places to visit ! I recommend ;)

Arrived at night just before a huge rainstorm, the directions were very clear and understandable. Our room was clean, warm and inviting. Woke to a lovely rainbow across the property. Would recommend to friends and family!

This place is wonderful. There are hiking trails in the back where you can go for miles with waterfalls and lots of sheep.

We enjoyed a lot our stay at Fossárdalur. The house was located in a very beatiful place. It was possible to use a shared kitchen and the room was clean and comfortable. Also, the host was really nice.

At first we weren't sure what we signed up for when we drove the windy, steep, dirt road up to the guesthouse, but we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrive at the picturesque farm. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hosts were very welcoming and accommodating.
