Large private bedroom, oak wood floors, antique brass bed, hall bathroom used only by guest(s). Access to kitchen and living room. Close to Tower Distirct, Fresno High, City College and Downtown Fresno. Great area for bicycling.
We have a guest bedroom and a full bathroom that is entered from the hallway. This room, with a queen brass bed that guests have described as firm, is decorated with a Yellowstone National Park theme.
There are some really great locally owned restaurants within a 20 minute walk: La Fonda De Ophelia, Dusty Buns, Waa Kitchen, Ampersand Ice Cream, Kuppa Joy, Tony's Pizza. Very quiet neighborhood 10 minutes or less from downtown Fresno. Gazebo Gardens, the weekend evening home of many food trucks, is a 7 minute walk. What can I say, it is a great neighborhood with warmth and charm.
Most of the time we will be home to greet you and give you a front door key. We will consider other access options if necessary. You can enter through the front door and get directly to the guest bedrooms with out interacting with us or the rest of the house. But if you are interested, the living room, kitchen and dining room are also available to you within reason. For example hosting/cooking a dinner for some guests would not work... but personal kitchen work is fine.
Interaction with guests
We'd love to get to know you and/or we are also happy to let you "hibernate" too. We ask for quiet, non smoking guests. You are welcome to use our wifi connection which is (99% of the time) strong and fast. We also have a large basement room that you can use with a large screen TV (65") and an Apple TV connection with netflix.
Other things to note
There is enough street parking for two cars. Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate supplies and keurig machine available in your room.
We set our thermostat at 70 in the winter (but turn it off completely at night) and 80 in the summer( 24/7). We supply extra blankets for winter use and have a ceiling fan and floor fan in the room for summer use.
No smoking please, quiet living, no pets.
My husband and I are both retired educators who do substitute teaching part time and enjoy hosting people in our home. We are active seniors and enjoy bicycling, walking, camping and rock climbing ( on rare occasions). We would love to welcome you to our home.
