Our secluded stone built house is set in an untouched 15th century hamlet, close to nature, with simply amazing views over the Cevennes National Park. You'll enjoy river swimming, historic towns, charming food markets, famous local restaurants, Rhone wine region, hiking, biking, canoeing, climbing and a myriad of local attractions.

The space

This peaceful 15th Century stone-built hilltop house has been sensitively restored keeping a feel of its history but adding just enough of the modern to make you comfortable.

Set in 5 acres of terraced meadows, orchard and woodland with stunning views across the hills of the Cevennes National Park, forested with pines and chestnut, it is secluded, but not isolated.

The house sleeps 8 people

The large salon - is the hub of the house, the focus for dining and relaxing and boasts an old long chestnut dining table which seats 10 and fireplace with a sofa and comfortable chairs.
The kitchen - also has a dining table, although we prefer to have our breakfast on the terrace with fresh croissant and baguette from the boulangerie while we watch the hawks swooping in the valley and marvel at the scenery.
5 bedrooms - 1 Double, 2 Twin and 2 Single bedrooms
2 bathrooms
Separate shower room
It is well equipped with a washing machine and large freezer (uesful for all those ice lollies!)

Interaction with guests

Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you directions and further information about the house and the surrounding area, along with the key. We request that at the end of your stay you lock the house and return the key to us in the UK in the mail.
Nicole, who lives in the hamlet, a 3-minute walk away, will help with anything you need during your stay.

The location is absolutely beautiful, even more impressive than described. The property is also larger than we expected, and was fine for eight people. There's a lovely spot to go for a swim, which is a pleasant 45 minute walk from the house. We all felt very comfortable, and could relax completely. The communication with Barnaby was smooth, and he provided a useful guide to the house and the region. There are only two small issues. One is with that that isolation of the property which, although exactly as described, made excursions that bit longer. The second issue is that some of the soft furnishings are a bit worn out. However, we had a great stay and would happily recommend it.
