The space

If you like the idea to disconnect from the bustle of the city and do yoga, meditation... this is the house you are looking for. I spent years practicing yoga and I am keeping the common area quite open to this ( without too much furniture that you have to keep moving to practice ). There are wood floors (also the room you would rent has them) and there is lots of natural light all day (even in the bathroom many mornings I shower with the sun coming through the window ). The back yard is tiny but also has light all day and is a good place to relax, read ... There is also access to the roof if you want to sunbath someday.
The house is in one of the safest areas of Coyoacan which gives you much more freedom when moving at night .

Guest access

You would have access to every place in the house except my room and my work studio which means that you will have access to two bathrooms, patio, roof and even the garage area if you need to its at the front door and a fenced and very safe street ). If you come with car it is a big plus because parking in the Center of Coyoacan is quite difficult, especially on the weekends .

Interaction with guests

I am relatively new in Mexico City myself so I'm slowly learning the secrets of this wonderful and big city but I certainly know Coyoacan and I will always help in any way possible guiding my guests and providing information as I can, both English and Spanish. I'll be home to greet you, give you the keys and explain any questions you have about the accommodation.

The neighbourhood

Coyoacan is wonderful, vibrant, with many green areas ( parks, Viveros de Coyoacan, the Pedregal of San Angel Ecological Reserve, University City of the UNAM ( Autonomous University of Mexico ) and many historical and cultural interest as the Museo Frida Kahlo, Anahuacalli Museum, the National Museum of Watercolor, the Leon Trotsky Museum, the Automobile Museum, the University Museum of Contemporary Art and the University Cultural Center. Also the weekends are incomparable. The Centre Square is filled with musicians artisans, vendors of delicious foods ... people from all parts of the city come to Coyoacan for a walk, the atmosphere is young but full of families, fun times, happiness in the air. In week days is quieter but still always colorful, vibrant and very safe even at night.

Getting around

Near the house are two metro stations ( Coyoacan and M.A. de Quevedo ) and you can easily access to both of them by bus. One of the buses is 5 ' walk from home and the other is 10'. Both buses can take from 5-15' to reach the subway entrance (depending on the time of the day and if there is traffic). Coyoacan is also a very "bike friendly" neighborhood, if you rent a bike for a few days you can check the whole "barrrio". I also have an extra bike that needs some work but that you can use if you get a lock and It is not problem to leave the bikes at home.
The Taxi Central Station is also close so just going out to La Conchita (right out of the house) you would see them passing by every 2 minutes and They are not expensive and always safe because are official taxis.

Other things to note

I am a quiet and respectful person and I want my guests to be the same. I Spent years sharing spaces and I like to feel at home when I 'm at home. The magic of my house is in part based on knowing that I always come back to a safe, clean, warm and quiet sanctuary. I love communication, sharing stories, taking some time to know my guests.
