Other things to note
Liguria is characterized by a mild climate all year round with low rainfall. With 300 days of sunshine a year, Liguria is one of the sunniest Italian regions, making it a popular holiday destination for every season.
The weather in Liguria is mainly influenced by the nearby mountains in the north and the sea in the south. Due to the climatic effects of the Gulf Stream and the protective mountains with a height of up to 2000 meters, the climate is mild throughout the year.

The carefully renovated natural stone house is located on the western edge of a typical Ligurian small hamlet. It is detached on 3 sides, garden and terrace overlook light-flooded olive groves on the Merulatal.
The wine-growing pergola invites you to spend the hot lunch time protected on the terrace. You live here very quiet, the sea (sandy beaches in all coves) is only 12 km away. Here you can enjoy the typical mild Mediterranean climate all year round, created by the protected location south of the Sea Alps.

Auberti is a small, typical Ligurian hamlet. It is located in the gently ending foothills of the Sea Alps above the Merula river valley in the countryside, surrounded by olive groves – 12 km away from the sea at Andora/Alassio. The nearest shops and restaurants are in Stellanello and Testico – 2 km away each.
Auberti is a 20-minute drive to the nearby seaside resort of Marina di Andora. Along the coast with its many coves (Italian Riviera) there are a variety of beaches, from the natural beach and cliffs to numerous farmed sandy beaches with all the comforts in small family seaside resorts, in between historic towns with their magnificent palaces and museums.
As soon as you go a few kilometers into the hinterland, it will be quiet. You will find small quiet villages with winding houses and medieval stone churches in gruesome terraced olive terraces, often with fantastic views into the mountains, over the valleys and the sea.

For outdoor activities you can start on foot from the house - by foot or by bike. You will find romantic hiking trails and mountain bike trails down to the peaks with sea views and in the vicinity various mountain passes that can be reached by bike.
In less than an hour you can reach well-maintained climbing and bouldering areas with all levels of difficulty.

The mild Ligurian climate, the Mediterranean vegetation and the picturesque surroundings invite you to numerous explorations.
The many Mediterranean seaside resorts with their beaches offer worthwhile excursion destinations. The Ligurian coast - due to its location on the foothills of the Sea Alps - is a rocky coast with numerous swimming coves, mostly with sandy beach. There, in the high season, beach pools alternate with rentable beach chairs and smaller free areas that cost nothing. At the ends of the bays, there are sometimes slightly more secluded charming swimming spots.
Also worth seeing are the cities of Nice and Genoa (90 km each), the medieval Ventimiglia, the 'Giardini di Hanbury', the stalactite caves in Toirano and the medieval old town of Albenga. Imperia, Alassio, Bordighera, Porto Maurizio and San Remo are seaside resorts with all the charm of the Fin de Siècle. In the hinterland there is not much to feel about mass tourism even in high summer, numerous old, picturesque mountain villages are waiting to be discovered. Here you will always find restaurants that offer the typical regional products at low prices.

Directions: The cottage is directly accessible by car, parking in 20 meters.
You can also reach Casa Auberti by public transportation and a short walk:
By train to Andora, from there by bus direction Stellanello to Armati, continue on foot about 0.5 km via a mule path or about 1 km via the road.
If you come by car, you will find parking in the village square at the entrance of the village (about 20 m from the house). Throughout Liguria, you have to expect narrow and steep mountain roads in the hinterland.

We are living in Munich, a good location for traveling to Mediterranean countries. A few years ago, we came across a magically located old Rustico in the hinterland of the Ligurian Riviera, which we have gently restored and expanded for a longer period of time. This is how today's Casa Auberti was born. We still go there regularly with joy, but would also like to offer the beautiful house to other people for their vacation.
