Betty is a great host! I felt very welcomed from the first day; the room was huge, comfortable and very clean. Betty was very helpful with all my needs and She always had great tips to give on everything:) and plus, she is sweet and funny. I had a great time at her house...I would highly recommend this place for a stay in Miramar.

This is a great place to stay. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. One block away from a clinic dispensing to tourists. In a quiet neighborhood.

A perfect experience for travellers who want to experience a "fend for yourself scenario" and/or have decently easy accessible services. The restaurant and rooms at Martha's are great to end your day of sight seeing Havana.

Casa Betty was a great place to stay during our first trip to Cuba. While the house is not in Havana, my wife and I really appreciated that after spending a good part of the day in the city center. The room has the necessities and the house is beautiful. The best part about the place is Betty. While she is more comfortable speaking in Spanish, she makes an effort to communicate in English and you will not have issues if you do not speak Spanish. We opted to pay for the breakfast everyday and we were very happy with the offerings. There is a restaurant that serves great food, right next door. If you want to enjoy Havana but be able to get a good nights sleep away from the hustle and bustle, Casa Betty is definitely the place to stay.

Martha's house is a wonderful place to stay in Cuba. It is close to Havana, walking distance to many interesting places, clean and comfortable. Martha is cheerful and very helpful. The breakfasts are large and delicious. Very satisfied with the stay, value and comfort of the room.

Martha was a kind and generous host. Her home has a number of rooms and is located in a nice, residential neighborhood called Miramar, about 20 minutes driving from Old Havana. My private room and bathroom were very clean, with locked doors and a sizable locked closet for security. I felt very safe and welcome. A huge and delicious breakfast of fruit, fresh juice, coffee, bread, and eggs, was offered daily. A cafe next door provided easy food options, though their evening music and street traffic meant some noise until late at night (my window faced the street). Martha and her staff were very kind and helpful in pointing me in the right direction for various activities, and in helping book other homes around Cuba for my stay. The main drawback of this home is the location, as transportation back to the neighborhood from Old Havana and other popular destinations proved to be more complicated than expected. Though shared taxis and buses run near the home, and can be easily taken to get downtown, you should expect to pay for private taxis to return most days, and those can run up to $10-15 on busy days. The Fabrica del Arte Cubano is in walking distance, which is fantastic, but most other destinations will require driving. But the area is otherwise quiet and the rocking chairs on the porch in the front garden provide a nice escape from bustling Havana.
