The space

This updated motel room is smaller than most Airbnb apartments, but it's a great value if you consider that there are no cleaning fees (or any other extra fee), no deposit, and a flexible cancellation policy.

Everyone is welcome, so you can Book Instantly without my pre-approval.
To enter the room, you press a 4-digit code on the front door.

Since there isn't a key for you to pick-up, you can arrive anytime after the 3pm check-in time. (Check-out time is 1pm)

I rely heavily on Airbnb's recommended pricing, so some days may be cheaper than others.

This is one of five remodeled rooms in a 22-unit motel. The remodeled rooms are operated separately from the rest of the motel. They are rented only through Airbnb. (See my other reviews to get an idea of what the place is like.)

The motel building exterior looks like a bland, kinda shabby 1980s apartment building, as I haven't gotten around to painting it yet. We plan on repainting & renovating the exterior in Fall 2017. There is an onsite motel manager if you require basic assistance during your stay.

Sorry, no pets. Limit 2 guests per room.

Interaction with guests

While I won't be present at the property, I have an on-site manager, and am always reachable through the Airbnb app

The neighbourhood

KOREATOWN: Located near Downtown, Koreatown is like a "city within a city." Like Hollywood and Downtown, the area is very urban and has an active nightlife, though some people will find it "sketchy." In Koreatown, you can explore Korean culture and LA culture at the same time. We have people of all backgrounds staying with us.

Getting around

TRANSPORTATION: Our building is about 3.5 blocks from the Metro Station and main bus lines on Wilshire Blvd. We are *not* within walking distance to any tourist spots (like the Hollywood sign) because LA is a very big city and everything is spread out.

Centrally located, clean, simple check-in and effective communication. Quiet at night and felt safe. Good budget accommodation for sure.

Dennis' place was exactly as described. It was a great value and if you're looking for a clean place to rest your head at night, this is perfect for that. We thought the location was great as we were able to walk to a restaurant nearby and after we came back later on in the night, we were able to walk to a cool little speakeasy bar near by called Break Room 86 (which you should definitely check out if you appreciate 80's music). The check-in process was simple, as all we had to do was send Dennis a 4-digit code for the door in advance and then when we arrived, we could go straight to the room. Even though the front of the building isn't the prettiest, that really didn't bother me because the room was nice and clean. The only thing that was a tad disappointing was the flimsy pillows on the bed. There was only two of the tiny pillows, making it kind of difficult to sleep. Other than that, I thought this was place was a great value!

The place looks like it used to be a motel. Checking in was easy, and it's in a very convenient part of town. It was clean and comfortable. The only thing is that the rooms aren't very soundproof, but the area is generally quiet so it's not a big problem.

We enjoyed our stay in this motel, because it was 1. Clean, 2. Swift communication and good location. The location might not been up the standards as in Beverly Hills (and yes there are graffitis which we European don't mind) but very interesting. We enjoyed to know the Korean town with its lovely restaurants and supermarkets. Also it was pretty close to Staples stadium where we watch the LA Lakers game. Bonus point on the newly renovated bathroom! Highly recommended.

Once you get past the ugly exterior the inside of the room is exactly as described and matching with the price of it
