Stay in a beautifully restored log cabin with your own gardens & forest! A fine example of the wooden architecture found only in the Carpathian foothills of Poland. A national park location within easy reach of all regional attractions and airports.

The space
This is a spacious, comfortable and secluded timber log cabin nestled into a steep hillside by a mountain stream. At least 100 years old, this property is one of the finest examples in the area of local 'Ruthenian' architecture and has been lovingly restored by a number of local craftsmen and artisans.

Take breakfast on the sun-drenched porch, snuggle up, lounge around or have a dinner party in this comfortable, spacious & beautifully restored log cabin with traditional wood burning stove and charming wooden interiors.

The house comprises a large, attractive reception hallway on the ground floor, off of which lies a spacious, mosaic bathroom decorated by a local artist and fitted with bath, shower and WC. Off to the right is a ground floor double bedroom. Off to the left, there a homely well-equipped kitchen, leading to a spacious living room.

Kitchen facilities include 2 gas fired rings, a standalone electric convection oven, 4-slice toaster, large SMEG fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, whilst the living room has a CD player/ radio and a number of books and games.

The upstairs accommodation comprises one huge, double master bedroom overlooking the hills opposite and one twin which overlooks the mountain stream below.

The log cabin is accessed via a tree-lined drive, which opens out into a huge, enclosed garden with tree swing, and outdoor shower and WC. There are also bicycles, a BBQ and firewood for you to use in the shed.

A the back of the house there is gradual drop to a mountain steam which can be accessed by wooden steps. The foot bridge over the stream leads up a steep and densely forested hill side, whilst the meadow directly opposite softly undulates towards a secluded copse ideal for picnics.

Where you’ll be

Krosno, Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Poland

This beautiful log cabin lies within is a patchwork of villages, farm land, rivers, forest and semi-mountainous habitats, peppered with dwellings of similar wooden construction and stunning scenery as far as the eye can see.

This 'National Park' location is a densely forested and species-rich habitat in the Carpathian Mountains of South Eastern Poland. There are many rare wild meadow flower varieties and butterflies, as well as wild storks, eagles, boar and deer.

The Czarnorzecko-Strzyzowski park has some fantastic walking and biking trails. There is a 16 mile circular bike ride that can be started from right outside the cabin and which takes in "Spinners rocks" & the beautiful gothic ruins of 14th Century Kamieniec Castle.

If you have an interest in foraging and wild food, a local wild food expert and renowned Polish botanist holds foraging and ethno-botanical workshops, in the neighbouring village in the spring, summer and autumn months.

The local village shop, the excellent Kamieniec restaurant and the Micro Brewery and bar in Wojkowka are all within a 2 - 4 mile radius.

The regional capital 'Krosno', with it's large, cobbled market square, ancient tenement houses and medieval churches is just a 10 minute drive away. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars dotted around the square, offering anything from Italian to Arabic cuisine and with plenty of outside seating the summer months, the square really comes alive and becomes the venue for a number of open events and festivals.
