The noise level is part of the Philippine life style and certainly not lower within the city, unless one stays in a hotel and a good location. A curtain in a room with a powerful ceiling fan seems useless too, and there is always the option to change sleeping positions. As for the odor, it's in the "nose of the beholder" and during (or right after) a rainy season not much can be done. The toilet was cleaned, as I personally checked and the cleaning lady just finished after check in. Yes, the WiFi can be weak or next to none, which again is to be attributed to Philippine life style. The guest was asked every day how things were, and only the WiFi issue came up, which seems unfair. Being central or not can go either way, as one can choose the city or a rural location and being only 1km away from the city, but yet very near to a bus terminal, has it's own advantages.
