Neighbourhood highlights

The Madrague de Montredon district and Bonne Brise beach are located in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille, at the southern end of the city, at the foot of the hills of the Calanques massif. This place is appreciated for its authentic and picturesque atmosphere, away from the urban hustle, offering a setting in

La Madrague de Montredon
La Madrague de Montredon is a former fishing district, with authentic charm and village atmosphere. Its name, “Madrague,” refers to the ancient technique of tuna fishing, once used in this region. The neighborhood is now residential, but still has a maritime vibe. The houses, often in the Mediterranean style, are usually small and colorful, with gardens and terraces offering views of the sea or the surrounding hills.

The neighborhood's narrow and winding streets are lined with Mediterranean vegetation, including pine, olive and fig trees. There are a few small local shops and seafood restaurants, often popular with locals and visitors looking for fresh produce and local specialties.

Bonne Brise beach
Bonne Brise beach is located close to the Madrague de Montredon district. It is a small pebble beach, nestled in a cove, which offers stunning views of the Friuli Islands and the Riou archipelago offshore. Unlike Marseille's larger more touristic beaches, Bonne Brise is more intimate and quiet, ideal for those looking for a little

The setting is typically Mediterranean: the water is clear, with shades of blue going from turquoise to the deep, and the rocks around the beach accentuate this natural and unspoiled aspect. It's a busy spot for swimming, snorkeling, and walks

Atmosphere and living environment
The atmosphere of this neighborhood is relaxing, almost timeless. Far from the center of Marseille, it is a place where you can recharge while enjoying the proximity to the calanques, a real natural jewel. On weekdays, it's quiet, but in summer when sunny weekends, the beach and small restaurants are filled with local visitors and tourists looking for authenticity.

The Madrague de Montredon district and Bonne Brise beach also attract water sports enthusiasts, such as paddleboarding, kayaking, or sailing. The La Bonne Brise nautical club, located nearby, makes it possible to
