We loved staying at Jason's apartment; it was spotlessly clean, very modern and had every convenience we could expect. Jason was an excellent host and met us personally to let us in and show us the apartment. He also gave us plenty of information about the neighbourhood and provided info on where to eat and drink. The neighbourhood is very 'suburban' so it gave us the opportunity to experience the real Montréal rather than staying in a hotel in the city where we would have been insulated from reality. Montréal is a wonderful city and should be experienced as how the locals live/love it. Jason's apartment is in the Little Burgundy area and is only a short bus ride ($3.25, remember to have correct small change) or taxi ($10) from downtown. Great venues close by are Lord William pub across the road (friendly staff and convenient), Burgundy Lion pub, Grinders (for upmarket food at upmarket prices) and the Atwater Market for local colour. A great stay with a terrific host who went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our stay in Montréal. Extra considerations not necessary to mention here but greatly appreciated nonetheless. Thanks Jason; if we ever get the opportunity to visit Montréal again, we'll be sure to stay at your place again. Tim and Jo, Perth, Western Australia

The apartment was exactly how Jason described it- in a brand new building, very clean, and comfortable. The bed was AMAZING--the most comfortable bed my girlfriend and I have ever slept on. Jason is very thoughtful and detail oriented- there were waters in the fridge, shower supplies, a maple syrup gift, and the TV was already equipped with Netflix, etc. Plus the wifi and porch were great! The neighborhood was hip and cool. A 10 minute walk to Joe Beef/Liverpool House and also a few cool cafes and bars right around the corner. Also, there is a bixi (bike share) dock right up the block. Jason went out of his way to accommodate our travel plans and make sure our stay went smoothly. He helped us figure out where to store our bags when we arrived before the check-in time and was VERY responsive over the app with any questions we had. The apartment is in a very cool residential (non-touristy) neighborhood with many bars, excellent restaurants, cafes, and some cool shops. This is definitely a pro but means it's a ways away from some of the more touristy spots. The bike share is a great way to explore different neighborhoods and the metro/bus service is easy to navigate. In/around Griffintown we loved: Arthur's, Liverpool House, Burgundy Lion, Foxys, Grinder, Brasseur de Montreal. Greenspot is an old school diner perfect for poutine. We heard great things about and really wanted to try Tuck Shop and Vin Papillion but didn't have time. Other things we loved in Montreal: Beautys Luncheonette, a bike tour from Fitz and Follwell, Fairmount for bagels, Dieu de Ciel for drinks, Wilenky's for a sandwich, Kem Coba for AMAZING ice cream, and Schwartzs (one of the oldest deli's in Canada). We went rafting on the St. Lawrence with Rafting Montreal and it was really fun- a great summertime activity for all ages. The Pointe-à-Callière (Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History) has a great history of Montreal movie and tour included in the price. Must go on a rainy day. Climbing Mont Royal is also a must. The old port has a lot of activities as well. Definitely rent bixi bikes to see as many of the neighborhoods as you can. Plateau/ Mile End/ Mile Ex is really cool with tons of bars, restaurants, shopping, and more. Check out the market in Little Italy or Marche Atwater near the apartment in Griffintown.

Our stay was fantastic. The place was very clean, sleek and bright (with plenty of natural light) and really made our trip to Montreal special. Jason was also an excellent host, checking-in with us regularly and ensuring we got the most out of our visit to Montreal. He was also very accommodating/flexible regarding our check-in time which was very helpful. The apartment is in a trendy, upcoming neighborhood with lots of great restaurants, markets etc. within walking distance. Be sure to check-out Atwater market and stalk up on some fresh produce. You can walk to old Montreal in approx. 20-30 min. Metro line is approx. 10 min walk. The gym in the building was nice, new and very clean. Washer and dryer came in handy as we found ourselves caught in a torrential downpour walking back from the Metro. Espresso maker was also a pleasant indulgence : ) P.S. A note if you're planning on visiting the Notre Dame Basilica - if you visit in the late afternoon, you'll have the place practically to yourself and can still get the historical overview from the guide.

Jason's apartment was terrific. Extremely clean, comfortable bed, and located in what seemed to be an up and coming neighborhood (think Long Island City if you're familiar with NYC). Garage parking and in unit washer and dryer were very convenient; and Jason was easy to get a hold of. Would definitely recommend.

Response from Jason:
Thanks Matt for the nice review. You're absolutely right about up & coming! Montreal will be celebration it's 375th anniversary in 2017 and there's a huge investment being poured into the city and particularly this neighbourhood. That being said, it will be the best time to visit (or revisit) Montreal.

From the moment I made my reservation, Jason was an ideal host, providing travel information in the days leading up to my trip, offering suggestions of what to do in Montreal, and ensuring that our stay was perfect in every way. During our visit, Jason checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and was accessible to answer any and all questions. The apartment is perfect for 1-2 people and contained all of the comforts of home plus amenities I didn't even expect! We loved the neighborhood--walking distance to the metro and many outstanding restaurants and cafes. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and sincerely recommend Jason and his beautiful apartment to all.

Love the art of travel. So many places to see, people to meet, cultures & foods to discover. Love connecting with people, exchanging stories and traveling tips. I'm a neat freak so expected it when I host and when I travel.

When I’m in my city of beautiful Montreal, you’ll catch me skiing, going a Montreal Canadians game at the Bell center, cheering on the Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium. I still love going to the Bio Dome and Planetarium for my inner child at heart.

I love walking around Old Montreal (Old Port) and discovering little shops, boutiques and art galleries. The architecture in the Notre-Dame Basilica is amazing. My favourite view of Montreal is up at the Chalet Mont-Royal where you see the heart of the city with amazing views of the St-Lawrence River and the Olympic Stadium (Big O). It's worth it to go once during the day and once at night for the city lights.

I love walking the farmer markets (Atwater Market & Jean Talon Market) and picking up fresh local organic produce (especially Canadian maple syrup and field berries in the summer).

Montreal summer is filled with great activities and festivals (Piknic Electronik, Grand Prix F1 racing, Just for Laughs, International Jazz Festival, Osheaga, International Fireworks, Pride Canada, Fashion & Design Festival, Festival YUL Eat).

In the winter, Montrealers keep warm and active with Igloofest, Fete des Neiges, Montreal en Lumière and indoor activities like the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal Contemporary Museum of Arts (MAC) and Pointe-à-Callière Museum.

After traveling to many different cities and countries, Montreal nightlife is on the world stage. So many clubs, bars, pubs, events and live music to experience around the city.

Montreal is a foodie's haven. Montreal has the highest number of restaurants per Capita in Canada and the second in North America after New York. Mixed in with its multiculturalism, foodie's will have their souls and their Instragram's filled! Joe Beef, Liverpool House, Jatoba, Garde Manger, Le Bremner, Nora Gray, Le Filet, Primo & Secondo, Café Ferrara, Damas, Provisions, Au Pied de Cochon, Toqué, Foxy, Tuck Shop, Park. Ok, ok, ok, I could go on here, the food is that good and where all us Montrealer's go.

I want to welcome you to a great city and make sure you have a memorable experience!

Work hard, play hard, travel hard.
