Come and visit a house full of history.
A stunning and quirky medieval timber framed home, with large kitchen, living room and 5 bed rooms. Ideally for 10 people. And the cot for babies at no extra cost will make the house perfect for all the family.

The space

The house has a wonderful kitchen diner in which there is room for 10 people to sit around a large table. It is well equipped with all the items needed for a large group to enjoy themselves

There is a large lounge with a magnificent inglenook fireplace (now housing the large 50" TV) with seating for at least 10 people and also another smaller lounge for 4 people. Both rooms have flat screen televisions with satellite reception and DVD players.

Wifi is also available throughout most of the building.

All these rooms are heavily timbered and have a twelve foot high ceiling.

Also on the ground floor is a utility room fitted with a dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional sink together with the downstairs shower and w/c.

On the Jacobian staircase is a door to a little low hide-away with two chairs - ideal for the ones amongst you who want a little space to read perhaps.

On the first floor is a large master bedroom with a four poster bed, another good size double bedroom with an amazing stone fireplace, a smaller room with two single beds and a landing with more sitting space. All these bedrooms have Jacobian wall paintings that were rediscovered in recent years.

Also on the first floor is a luxurious bathroom with a double ended free standing bath and a huge walk-in shower, all recently installed.

The second floor comprises of 2 smaller bedrooms with two single beds in each.

The property has full gas fired central heating with an adjustable thermostat and unlimited hot water from a combination boiler.

There is parking for 2 vehicles on site and free parking nearby, plus a small outside seating area with table and chairs.

Guest access

You book the whole house, so all areas (apart from the inaccessible loft space!) are available to you.

Interaction with guests

We endeavour to meet you on your arrival, but this is not always possible. However we make arrangements for you to get into the house at your chosen time of arrival.
If you are on holiday and need somebody to guide you around places in Kent, please get in touch. We are in the business of that as well.

Other things to note

The house is part of a courtyard and we expect visitors to respect residents around them. Due to a recent group behaving badly we need you to put special attention to the house rule of low noise levels in the smacking area especially during the night.

The main rule is that we want you to enjoy your stay. Its a great house to have a celebration. However, please keep the house in good order. All the utilities are included, but please do not waste resources by leaving everything running at full.
Also due to recent issues, you have to agree to be respectful to the neighbours. It is vital you don't move your celebrations into the courtyard as most of the people living around there have bedrooms leading to the courtyard. If somebody ask to turn down the volume, you need to do exactly that!!!
Children are welcome, but please get in touch before you book instantly, we have one baby/infant cot of 1.30m length and an additional travel cot available and I want to make sure your children are comfortable as well.
No smoking anywhere in the house!!! You can smoke outside, but being neighbourly-rules apply.
Regarding pets, please get in touch, as sometimes we do allow a well behaved dog to come along.

Beautiful house, and fantastic hosts that provided all check in/out information clearly. Plenty of space to make yourself feel at home, including a huge dining table and plenty of pots and pans to allow easy catering for 12 people. We had a great weekend trawling through the DVD collection and staying in the lovely Edenbridge (including pubs, shops and banks within less than a minutes walk from the door!). We'd certainly stay again. The house was STUNNING!

Our stay at the historic Taylour House in Edenbridge was tremendous. The home is extremely well appointed and spotlessly clean. The town of Edenbridge is charming. Everything a visitor could need is within a 5 minute walk. Kerstin and Pete are excellent with communication and there were no problems checking in. It was a great first English country experience for some young Canadian university students. We hope to return.

This stunning home was a perfect base for our stay. The host was really kind and accommodating. The house is spectacular, quirky, charming and so special you feel privileged to be allowed to stay in it. Despite being 600 years old there are all the mod cons you could need. The decoration is warm and homely so you dont feel like youre staying in a museum. The location is easy to find and parking is great. Beds are soft and comfy...altogether, cant fault it. Perfect.
