The area is full of treasures such as Toji, Mibu-Dera Temple... There are four tatami bedrooms. Enjoy the charm and elegance of Kyoto houses with the inner garden you can admire from the stoneware bath and the soft futons. You can also rent kimono.
Approximately 80~100 years old Kyoto house. On the first floor made of wooden floor, there is a kitchen and the living room from which you can admire the inner garden. Through the corridor along the garden will be the lavatory, toilet, and the bathroom.
The bathtub is handmade by skillful artisans and will warm you up deeply thanks to the far-infrared effect. Enjoy a leisurely bath time in this exceptional bathroom with walls covered in antique tiles. On the second floor, we have put a set of futons. Since there the staff will not be here when you enter the house, we are sorry for the inconvenience but please put the futons in their covers.
Beside the closets and such requiring a key, the house is all yours.
Interaction with guests
As you are renting an independent house, the staff will not enter while you are staying there. Concerning the check-in formalities, come to our office where we will provide you with the necessary information. If there is anything you need or do not understand during your stay, please contact us anytime, we will be happy to help.
Really close to the townhouse are the Umekoji Park and Kyoto Aquarium. On the 29th of April (2016) will be the opening of the largest train museums in Japan, the Kyoto Railway museum. As a result, a new station will also open just two minutes away on foot from the house making it very convenient.
On the 21st of each month, go for treasures such as kimono and antiques and local food hunting to one of the largest flea markets in Japan in the grounds of the Toji Temple.
As this Umekoji area was once the area of the Shinsengumi, police of the military government during Japan Bakumatsu period, there are numerous temples. Among them, Mibu-Dera Temple,Nishi Honganji Temple, the Shimabara Door or also samurai houses such as the Yagi House.
The house is 10 minutes away from Kyoto Station by bus. From Nanajo Senbon bus stop if you go 10 meters to the east, go south down the corner with the florist and the butcher shop, the house is the second one, with Japanese lanterns.
Other things to note
Please inform us in advance of your check-in time by email or phone. Check-in formalities can be made at our office between 12:00 and 17:00. The staff will wait for you at the time of your choice. (If you want to check-in outside those hours, please contact-us and we will try accommodate). You can use the house from 15 pm.
Basically, the staff will not come to the house.
Since this a quiet residential area, we would like you not to cause any trouble to your neighbors by being loud at night.
Concerning the cleaning, when your stay is longer than three days, we can clean the room for you once for free. If needed, please contact us to ask for this service.
