The space

My very comfortable log home is surrounded by woods. Outside every window there is a beautiful view of trees. Behind the house are trails to cool old cemeteries and lovely streams. (In fact, I have just added some pictures of one of these trail walks). It is conveniently located on a main route only 5 miles from Amherst center.
The suite consists of 2 rooms and a full bath. One room is a bedroom with a double bed. The other is a sitting room with a thick very comfortable futon couch that folds out to a double bed. It also has has a tv with Directv and an extensive eclectic library. There is a full bath with a great shower and a jacuzzi tub. The suite is on the entire second floor making it completely private.
Downstairs there is full access to the living room, with pellet stove and large screen tv, to the kitchen, and to a screened in porch - weather permitting! There is also a washer/dryer, treadmill, and WiFi.
I have a very shy cat, Stanley, who likes to sleep on top of the pellet stove. ME?! I am not at all shy, but can absolutely give you all the privacy you may desire.

This is our 2nd stay at Jill's place and both stays have been great. Very clean and private. Jill always makes us feel welcomed and very comfortable in her home. This stay weather delayed our check in time but Jill was very gracious with a later than planned arrival. Jill's place has now become our "go to" place to stay when in the Amherst area.

We so enjoyed our stay with Jill. From the booking to our check out, she was very responsive and welcoming! The space is exactly as advertised, and couldn't be more homey and clean. Location is perfect for a visit to the 5 college area - on a main road so easy to locate but surrounded by woods so incredibly beautiful. Wifi worked great including streaming video and the separate tv area is a tremendous bonus! Jill was very respectful of our privacy but also shared coffee and conversation that quickly made us feel right at home. Stanley the cat is beautiful but we didn't see him much. We will definitely look to book with Jill during our future stays in the area. Highly recommend.

Jill is an incredible host! From our first communication, she was warm and friendly, and when I met her in person, I was struck by her deep kindness. Before we arrived, she texted to tell me that she was going to the store and asked if we needed anything. For our stay, she bought flowers and put them in vases in every room! Jill's conversation is intelligent and interesting - I loved talking to her - but she is also sensitive to her guests needs for quiet or privacy. I was traveling with my teenage son, and she was wonderful with him, helping him find trails to walk. We were there to visit my daughter, and Jill let her spend the night with us - a wonderful respite from the dorm. Jill's log cabin is lovely, clean and cozy with spacious bedrooms upstairs for the guests. Her book collection is fantastic. On the night we arrived, she turned on some laser lights that lit the backyard up with stars. I will definitely stay here again - it's like a home-away-from-home, and I have made a new friend.

I loved staying with Jill in her charming home. She's a natural host who can't help but make you feel welcome and empowered to enjoy the place as if it were your own. I really appreciated how supportive she was of the project I was working on and the extra efforts she made to make sure I had what I needed to be productive. When I wasn't working or out we enjoyed wide-ranging conversations that touched on history, travel, politics, and more. And while I am allergic to cats, I experienced no symptoms, as Jill vacuums the upstairs and keeps it very clean and tidy. The upstairs area is spacious, private, and comfortable, the pool and front porch are very inviting, and the woods out back are a nice place for a stroll. Amherst is a short drive down the hill. Highly recommended!

Jill was more than hospitable during my recent stay with her. I had originally booked my stay for two nights but got into a car accident and needed to cancel my second night. Jill was extremely sympathetic to my situation and refunded me for that second day, no questions asked. During the one night i did stay, I enjoyed the coziness advertised in jills description of her homey log cabin. Jill is as sweet as can be and welcomed us openly. Would absolutely recommend her to friends and stay with her again. Thanks so much Jill! -Mike

We really enjoyed staying with Jill. Jill has a lovely house in a beautiful rural setting. The guest room is roomy and well-equipped. There is an additional sitting room which is part of the listing which we didn't even use at all. Jill is very welcoming and helpful, as well as very cultured and educated. We really enjoyed getting to know her and staying with her.

This was my second time staying at Jill's lovely log home in Pelham. As before, I felt very comfortable and at ease in her welcoming home. I had a friend visit for two of my four nights and we both slept well and enjoyed Jill's private space upstairs. I would not hesitate to return nor to recommend her home to anyone visiting the five college area.

I am new to airbnb, but not to inviting people to stay in my home! I am a retired teacher with many interests. I am originally from Idaho and so feel very comfortable in my log home in the woods. I love to travel and meet new people. You would be most comfortable and most welcome in my home!
