Description

The space

The apartment is very cute: 1930s block, wooden floors, art-deco staircase. It's fully equipped for travelling, with a double bed, couch, inflatable mattress, gas-burner and kitchen appliances. But there's no need to cook! Brixton markets are close by: you can taste the flavours of the world, as well as visit a bunch of classic British pubs and pop-up bars.

Guest access

You'll have the whole apartment to yourself.

The neighbourhood

While not quite as famous as Shoreditch, Brixton offers many similar attractions: a vibrant community, plenty of bars and nightlife, excellent coffee. It was the home of David Bowie and those interested in making a pilgrimage to the famous mural need only walk 2 mins down the street. Brixton markets offers a wide range of fruit/veggies/meat etc. as well as a number of excellent local restaurants. In particular the Jamaican food is great, there's also great Japanese and burgers to be had in the markets (but get there early on the weekend if you're looking for breakfast!)

Brixton has two large concert venues which have gigs on the weekend as well as a number of smaller ones (Hootananny is recommended). Pop Brixton is a short walk away - a bunch of restaurants and bars built in old shipping containers.

Getting around

We're right next to the tube (2mins walk) which connects you to everything. (About 12 mins to get to Central London). There is also Brixton train station close by (if you're going anywhere on the main lines), and close-by Herne Hill will take you to Brighton if you're looking for a seaside adventure. There are buses to get you just about anywhere at anytime (although the tube is recommended at peak hour). Most of the bus stops are next to the tube (2min walk).
