The space

The flat (appartment) is located in a nice and quite residential area within 15/20 (half mile) minutes walk to the town center of Sestri Levante and the sea (free wifi conected area). You cannot choose this flat and then complain that is half mile far from the sea! I just cannot move the house! If you do not feel like walking , 2 BICYCLES ARE AVAILABLE free of charge, so you can reach the town center and the beaches in 5 minutes only. It is on the fith floor of a building. No elevator, but the view is worth every single step.
In the very immediate vicinity (within 5 minutes walk) there are two super-markets, three fruit stores a bakery a confectionery shop and an ice-cream shop . There are also eight bars, two take-away pizza shops and three restaurants.

I OFFER the breakfast. A very spacious bedroom with a memory foam double bed, linens and towels, a 4 season wardrobe, one part of it is available for your usage. A large bathroom, a kitchen with a part of the fridge for your water and food. 24-hour high speed WiFi. Two living rooms and two panoramic terrazzos. Other little things are provided in the flat, such as maps and train/ferry schedules, an hair-dryer and mineral water. Basement for bikes. Private parking on premise where you can leave your car for the duration of your stay.
I do speak english.

Sestri Levante is a charming seaside town. It offers a perfect compromise, providing a convenient choice between swimming at the beach and hiking and mountainbiking in the hills. It is right in the middle of the Italian Riviera, very convenient for visiting all the area from Genoa, Portofino and San Fruttuoso to the 5 Terre. Futhermore Sestri Levante is, only one hour and half by train, far from Pisa! THE TRAIN STATION IS WITHIN 15 MINUTES WALK, OR 5 MINUTES WITH THE BICYCLES, I OFFER FREE OF CHARGE, FAR FROM MY PLACE.

Since I don’t like my guests wandering around looking for the flat, I would like to know from which place you are coming from on the day and, above all, the time of your arrival so I can organize your picking up either at Sestri Levante rail station (you can check the train times on the "trenitalia" the offficial Italian railway website. It has an English version as well) or Sestri Levante motorway exit. The best time for me to do that is after 3 p.m. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Sestri Levante is about 40 km before the farthest 5 Terre town (Riomaggiore) There are 3 ways to travel to and from the 5 Terre.
THE FIRST one is by train. It takes from Sestri Levante to Riomaggiore about 30 minutes max. It costs about 25 euros (going and back plus the one day 5 Terre card) . I consider this one, by far, the best way because is cheap and very handy. There are a lot of trains from Sestri Levante from 7 a.m to 24 p.m . I suggest my hosts to go to the farthest town Riomaggiore and then visit the other four towns by footpaths or, if you do not feel like walking ,by trains.
THE SECOND one is by ferry. Late spring and summer, a couple of days a week about 2 p.m. a boat seals from Sestri Levante for the 5 Terre and cames back about 18 p.m. This is a very beautiful way to travel to the 5 Terre. The only snag is that you got to respect the boat timetable. You can do a mix of the previous two. For instance you can go by boat and came back by train or viceversa.
THE LAST one is by car but I really do not suggest it.

I have travelled with Airbnb a number of times in different countries, Sandro and Dora are the best people we have met. Kind souls full of heart, always attentive to our needs and always giving. Airbnb speaks of belonging wherever we go, and this trip we truly experienced it during our stay here in Sestri Levante. Staying with Sandro felt like home, me and my partner had one of the best moments just spending our morning sitting by the balcony, watching the view and soaking up a local, Italian life. I wish this stay had been longer, there would be so much to do. Heading to the beach to swim, catching sunsets and sunrises, cycling and perhaps even learning cooking from Dora would be lovely! We tried a risotto she cooked, and it was the best we had all trip, even better than restaurants with good reviews out there. Sandro speaks great English and the nights were spent on incredible conversations. Dora doesn't speak English, but it doesn't stop her from shining. Her smile, is always the brightest (: The room is clean and the bathroom, has the best view ever. We brush our teeth facing the mountains, what a tranquil start. The first night when we got home later, there was a bottle of water placed in the room, the night lamp left on and the mosquito repellant plugged in. It's what family do for each other, taking care of each other. Sandro also provides a bicycle tour to get us familiar with our neighbourhood. The best meal we had was at the fish shop by the local supermarket Coop, best meal in Italy. Such good hearts should always be respected by people who choose this place. And if your heart is opened like mine, you will find this place home. You will also find two new friends that will never be forgotten, Sandro and Dora.

Response from Sandro:
Ly and Tham thank you very much for this beautiful and touching review! This one is, by far, the best I have ever received. Destiny couldn’t have sent better guests than you to end up this season and maybe my working for Airbnb after six years with the best, unforgettable memories and the best rewards. You both are the epitome of super guests: good hearted, open minded and very appreciating young guys. We too have find two new friends. Your coloured thoughts as light as the wind, beside me and Dora, soon they will find many others admirers because they are original and touching! Never do you give up thinking then!! Dora and I wish you all the best and take it easy back in Singapore! Arrivederci from Dora and Sandro!

Our visit was within our expectations. Sandro was an engaged and alert host providing us with tips and and valuable information on what to do in- and outside of Sestri Levante. Sandro, and his kind girlfriend, cooked us fresh breakfast aswell as kept the flat tidy everyday. The only thing we found slightly unexpected was the fact that there is a railroad running just a block from the apartment. But overall a pleasant stay.

Response from Sandro:
Thank you very much for your kind words. Talking about the railroad, just a little clarification. In Italy, like in any other civilised countries, the new generation light trains stop to run from eleven p.m to five o clock in the morning and before and after that time you can hear a 20 seconds (timed) swift rattle that has never bother me and my previous 136 guests!

We stayed 4 days at Sandro's and we were made to feel home. Sandro is a very attentive host always ready to help and anticipate your every need. The stay is a house share so you live together for a few days. Sandro goes the extra mile to show you his city and provides useful advice on the places to visit, e.g. The Cinque Terre, Portofino, etc, and the most effective transportation means. He even lends you two bikes for free to make it even easier to move around. The room is clean and spacious and the breakfast is copious and tasty.

Sandro is a fantastic host. He welcomed us at the train station, giving us a lift to his flat. After dropping off our bags in our room we were invited to go on a cycling tour of the town with Sandro as the guide. This was a great introduction to Sestri Levante. Having the bikes was a big plus! Sandro was helpful with planning day trips and train/ferry travel. Breakfast everyday was lovely with cereal, homemade bread, cake, jam etc. The flat was large and very clean. We would recommend a stay with Sandro to anyone visiting Sestri Levante.

The room was exactly as depicted in the photos. The rest of the apartment was immaculately clean. Sandro was the epitome of a perfect host. He was very prompt in his email responses. He kindly adjusted his busy work schedule to pick us up from the train station to let us check in early, as well as take us back. In addition, he provided an interesting bike tour (free use of the bikes by the way) of his charming city of Sestri Levante and how to reach the train station. The breakfast was good; as were the delicious dinners he (along with Dora) generously cooked for us each night (along with a sampling of grappa, Romanian cheesecake, etc. - a special treatment since we were the last guests for the season). Best of all were the interesting and humorous conversations we exchanged. This was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip.
