The flat (appartment) is located in a nice and quite residential area within 15/20 (half mile) minutes walk to the town center of Sestri Levante and the sea (free wifi conected area). You cannot choose this flat and then complain that is half mile far from the sea! I just cannot move the house! If you do not feel like walking , 2 BICYCLES ARE AVAILABLE free of charge, so you can reach the town center and the beaches in 5 minutes only. It is on the fith floor of a building. No elevator, but the view is worth every single step.
In the very immediate vicinity (within 5 minutes walk) there are two super-markets, three fruit stores a bakery a confectionery shop and an ice-cream shop . There are also eight bars, two take-away pizza shops and three restaurants.
I OFFER the breakfast. A very spacious bedroom with a memory foam double bed, linens and towels, a 4 season wardrobe, one part of it is available for your usage. A large bathroom, a kitchen with a part of the fridge for your water and food. 24-hour high speed WiFi. Two living rooms and two panoramic terrazzos. Other little things are provided in the flat, such as maps and train/ferry schedules, an hair-dryer and mineral water. Basement for bikes. Private parking on premise where you can leave your car for the duration of your stay.
I do speak english.
Sestri Levante is a charming seaside town. It offers a perfect compromise, providing a convenient choice between swimming at the beach and hiking and mountainbiking in the hills. It is right in the middle of the Italian Riviera, very convenient for visiting all the area from Genoa, Portofino and San Fruttuoso to the 5 Terre. Futhermore Sestri Levante is, only one hour and half by train, far from Pisa! THE TRAIN STATION IS WITHIN 15 MINUTES WALK, OR 5 MINUTES WITH THE BICYCLES, I OFFER FREE OF CHARGE, FAR FROM MY PLACE.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE FOLLOWING SIMPLE REQUEST!
Since I don’t like my guests wandering around looking for the flat, I would like to know from which place you are coming from on the day and, above all, the time of your arrival so I can organize your picking up either at Sestri Levante rail station (you can check the train times on the "trenitalia" the offficial Italian railway website. It has an English version as well) or Sestri Levante motorway exit. The best time for me to do that is after 3 p.m. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
HOW CAN YOU GET TO THE 5 TERRE FROM THE FLAT?
Sestri Levante is about 40 km before the farthest 5 Terre town (Riomaggiore) There are 3 ways to travel to and from the 5 Terre.
THE FIRST one is by train. It takes from Sestri Levante to Riomaggiore about 30 minutes max. It costs about 25 euros (going and back plus the one day 5 Terre card) . I consider this one, by far, the best way because is cheap and very handy. There are a lot of trains from Sestri Levante from 7 a.m to 24 p.m . I suggest my hosts to go to the farthest town Riomaggiore and then visit the other four towns by footpaths or, if you do not feel like walking ,by trains.
THE SECOND one is by ferry. Late spring and summer, a couple of days a week about 2 p.m. a boat seals from Sestri Levante for the 5 Terre and cames back about 18 p.m. This is a very beautiful way to travel to the 5 Terre. The only snag is that you got to respect the boat timetable. You can do a mix of the previous two. For instance you can go by boat and came back by train or viceversa.
THE LAST one is by car but I really do not suggest it.
All the listed rooms are at your disposal if you like...
I would like to make clear that although I am very busy with my job ( surveyor) all day and very often I am away, I LIVE IN THIS FLAT and I LIVE IN THIS FLAT.
All the listed rooms are at your disposal if you like.
On booking please COMPLY as much as possible with my requests expressed on the 4th paragraph of my profile. At very least specify if you reach Sestri Levante by car or by train. Set itinerary a week before your arrival. You know is far better have someone waiting for you with a car than go around the town looking for my address toting a heavy luggage. Also this courtesy is free.
Smoking is allowed on the terrazzos.
I am a retired traveller in the rat race, for the time being... anyway..
I welcome you... and if you like by the end of your first day you may feel as a local!
