The space

Green House has one double guest room with an en-suite shower room. We also have a VW Campervan tent for children to sleep in on airbeds from late July and August, during the school holidays. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 3 children. Children under 14 are charged at £15 per child per night. It is an 1850's stone built detached property on a small traffic-free lane, in a quiet residential area close to the Tarka Trail and river and only 7 minutes walk from the town centre and all its amenities. At Green House we offer an exclusively vegetarian breakfast menu. Our breakfasts satisfy all our hungry guests, vegetarian and non-vegetarian alike. We enjoy preparing special breakfasts to accommodate dietary needs and preferences. Our menu features home-made bread, locally made jams and preserves, free-range eggs, soy products, a variety of teas, organic coffee and always locally sourced food wherever possible. If you're an occasional vege, what the press have coined a 'flexitarian', this is a great way of trying out some new breakfasts.
We are friendly and welcoming, so you can relax but also have your own independence during your stay with us. You can holiday at your own pace and come and go as you please. Our guests enjoy free wireless broadband during their stay. We are a non-smoking, vegetarian (pescetarian) household and implement green practices.
There's off road parking for cars and a secure covered passage for bicycles. An excellent bus service is less than 5 minutes away.
This is a great place to use as a base for hiking; we're on the Tarka Trail and minutes from the South West Coast Path which cuts through Bideford over it's 13th century longbridge, visible from your guest room window.

Guests have access to our private garden where you're welcome to soak up some sunshine on the decking and enjoy the peace and quiet. If inclement weather prevents you from making the most of North Devon's glorious countryside you're welcome to use our lounge with a well stocked library.

You're always made very welcome as you arrive with a drink and hopefully something sweet. We love meeting people and are happy to chat but will also respect you're privacy and give you plenty of space.

Guest access

Adults have access to their ensuite bedroom. Breakfast is served downstairs in our lounge at a time to suit you as you will be our only guest. There are teas and coffee in your room to make a hot drink when you wish to, along with a well stocked library of books and local maps and information.
If you are staying with children, the tent is in the garden and is accessed through the lounge, it is on decking in an enclosed space, which you are welcome to sit in if the weather is warm and dry. If weather is wet you can use the lounge in the day time providing we are not already using it for work, but we are always keen to have a chat when you are in the house.

Wonderful welcome, a comfortable, quiet, clean room and fantastic veggie breakfast. Ideal for those travelling to and from Lundy island as about a ten minute walk away from the ferry. Dave and Sadie were also able to suggest suitable places for an evening meal, even when it was quite late and we were very bedraggled from the ferry! Would recommend.

Thank you Alison for a lovely review. It was a pleasure to welcome you both after your mid evening arrival on the ferry; and to serve up a good breakfast to set you up for your journey home. Glad you enjoyed your stay!, Sadie and Dave

Green House B&B is just minutes from the Tarka Trail/SW Coast Path, and a short walk over the river to Bideford's restaurants and historic pubs. Dave & Sadie are lovely, funny, interesting hosts that make a really fantastic breakfast and have great local recommendations!

To find Green House B&B once in the area, go down Sunnyside and near the bottom, the B&B will be down an alleyway on the right.

Great room, with Dave and Sadie being friendly hosts with great knowledge of the local area. And fantastic breakfast - even if you're not a full veggie! Great work guys!

Dave and Sadie communicated with us well. The room was very nice and clean and tidy. And our hosts were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area and easy walking distance to the town too.

A year was spent in Tucson Arizona in 2004 and visits have been made to Bideford's twin town, Manteo, in North Carolina where Dave and Sadie are making links with the arts community there.
