About this listing
Our home is well presented, convenient & comfy - a 3 storey town house located close to shops, restaurants & pubs and is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Within walking distance are the downs, Steephill Cove, the botanic gardens and a lovely park.
We offer free wi-fi during your stay (and guest access to a Mac) and our 42" tv is connected to Sky TV.
The house is double-glazed and centrally heated and is nice and toasty in the winter but lovely and cool in the summer.
One of our shower rooms has a mini-bath, ideal for bathing small children but not big enough for adults to bath in (it's essentially a giant shower tray).
You'll have full access to the property.
Interaction with guests
We won't be around but we'll leave you with a comprehensive house manual which will include a list of contact numbers.
Nearby Ventnor Botanic Gardens "Basks in the microclimate of The Undercliff", one of the great gardens of Britain and one of our favourite places.
We're sandwiched between the downs and the English Chanel and the views in this area are stunning.
The Telegraph featured Steephill Cove among 'The 20 best hidden beaches in the UK' and it's walking distance from our home!
There's a bus stop within 50 yards from our house and a taxi rank a couple of hundred yards from our house (it's a small town though so there aren't always taxis there!).
We have no off-street parking. Nearby street parking is non-restricted during the winter (but not always easy to get a space) and restricted to one hour during the summer months. We tend to pull-up to the house to load/unload then move to one of the free 24 hour car parks within either a 3 minute or a 6 minute walk.
Other things to note
This is our primary residence rather than a second home so although we'll leave the place clean and tidy and we'll make some space for your stuff, they'll also be our stuff too.
Please note that we only have a very small courtyard, there is no garden.
We don't own a microwave or a tumble dryer.
Sadly we are unable to welcome pets into our home and smoking is not permitted under any circumstances.
The landline phone is for incoming calls only. National landlines may be called at weekends or after 6pm but no calls during the day or to mobile phones are permitted.
Myself and my family absolutely love where we live but we also love to go on adventures. Favourite destinations include the Alps and the Mediterranean.
My favourite book is Jerome K Jerome's 'Three men in a boat' and my husband's is 'Do Androids dream of electric sheep?'. My favourite movie is L'Arnacoeur (it sounds arthouse and highbrow but it's a cheesy RomCom) and J's is Bladerunner.
We love to share our home with others and have welcomed guests via a home exchange site. We offer a four bedroom, two shower room town house which is a 4 minute (we've timed it) walk to the beach and a 1 minute walk to the town.
When in Ventnor we love to spend time at the local park, the Botanic Gardens, up on the downs and down at the beach.
