The place is great for one person, it's a small apartment in the Asakusa area with several sights nearby, Sleeping in the tatami floor was ok. Book this if you're on budget and want the independence of having an apartment for yourself.

This was my first time going to japan and the place was just as it was listed. The only problem was that its on the 4th floor and carying luggage was a pain. Other than that it was great.

Spotless, functional, around the corner from the subway (direct from Haneda) and convenience stores, very easy self-check-in. The 4th floor (=3rd floor to Europeans) walkup is a breeze (if you can't lift your luggage then you're packing too much). Host provides very clear and detailed instructions and was quick to respond to queries. Tea/instant coffee and snacks are a very nice touch, and the guidebook and pocket wifi, life savers. Recommended!

I highly recommend this place for staying Tokyo. Clean convenience comfortable. Near asakusa. And Japanese style bedding. Also it's not expensive! Such a hidden gem in Tokyo. Everything perfect! 5 stars. Indeed!

The location of the apartment is great if you wish to visit the sky tree or asakusa temple. The nearby metro is only 5 mins to walk, easy access to the airport too. The apartment is an aged apartment, locate on 4th floor, no lift, so you better reconsider if you have a heavy luggage or woman. The host seems run a few apartments in different floor. I guess you will not get to meet the host, The details will be well written when you confirmed your booking. suitable for those travelers who wish to be themselves.

Overall, it's ok. The house is too small for 5 or 6 persons. It's an old apartment, at 4th floor, it's difficult to go up and down with the huge luggage without the elevator, otherwise, the location is very near to the train station(Honjo-azumabashi), convenient store and sky tree. The host respond very quickly to your enquiries.

I'm going to start with what was good: - the location was convenient, we came from Narita Airport and the train was direct from the airport to Honjo Azumabashi station. - the apartment is clean and the directions were perfect. - we had complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits - the washing machine is very convenient when you stay for a week.. - The kitchen is ok, I would just recommend changing the direction of the refrigerator’s door opening, which would be more practical. But: - First of all, if you have back problems, forget about this place! I had to pile up 4 futons to have a minimum of comfort (I don't mean it was comfortable), and thus, my husband had to sleep in the couch. Except that the couch is very uncomfortable as well! Once you unfold it, the part where your head goes is a wooden plank, and there’s a gap between the plank and the foam mattress, so your shoulders are between the wood and the foam...nice… - It's a small apartment (the pictures make it look bigger) and there is no way 6 people can stay there comfortably. Maybe 4 ppl MAXIMUM...and just for sleeping! We were only two and it felt already crowded! And tall people must watch their heads! - When you arrive in the apartment, you must use your cell phone’s flashlight because the switch for the main light is in the middle of the living room…and before you reach the middle of the living room, you have to take off your shoes, in the dark or holding the flashlight or the door open… It’s not practical at all… - There are no efficient curtains or blinds, meaning that when the sun is up, so are you…and 5:30 is a bit early for us…not to mention the total absence of sound and thermal insulation. So good luck in winter and keep your eyemask and earplugs from the plane! - After a long day walking around the city, you look forward to your evening shower to relax…but here, we dreaded that moment, because the water was either boiling or freezing. Maybe we are total dummies, but we never managed to obtain a good temperature for more than a few seconds (while going from boiling to freezing or the other way around…). Something needs to be done with the heater, I think. - Please remove the carpet from the toilet seat! It is so not hygienic!! - The bathroom is very small, the basin is really tiny, and there is no space for storing your toilet bag except on the floor… Overall, the sanitary facilities are very outdated and need a complete makeover. To sum up it was not a good stay, because we dreaded the moments that should have been relaxing like taking a shower or having just a good night sleep…

Response from Hiroaki:
Dear Audrey, I'm grateful for your stay and review! I prepared for your great stay but I'm sorry I didn't meet your expectation. I will improve as much as possible on the basis of your advices. Then, I fixed the bath. The hot water comes out anytime and it is easy to do temperature control now. The sanitary facilities are cleaned every time from before, but I'll be more careful. Thank you for your stay and advices again. Sincerely,
April 2017
