Our cottage is at the end of a road in a lovely grove of 100 foot pines. It is 100 yards from Lake Buel with kayaking, swimming and fishing. Lots of private outdoor space, a screen porch and large deck. Indoor and outdoor hot water shower.

The space

The cottage is cool, private and quiet. It is only 6.5 miles from Great Barrington and 12 miles from Tanglewood. Cottage is equipped with two kayaks conveniently stored at lake-side. Lake Buel is a mile long and is very clean, being fed by two mountain springs. The kitchen has plenty of counter space, updated cabinets, new stove and plenty of pots, pans and utensils. The second bedroom has two twin beds. There's lots of natural light in both bedrooms. The cottage has cathedral ceiling with three skylights and a sliding door in the living room leading to the deck.

This is a cute little cabin at the end of the road. The location is perfect as it is the last house on the road with lovely wooded area beyond. The lake is right there and is perfect for kayaking and swimming. Its a small lake but not very busy even on the 4th of July weekend. We had no mobile phone connection here or wifi which was an added benefit, it was great to disconnect for awhile. There are flowers all around the house and it is very romantic.

Response from Richard:
Sheko was a delight to deal with from start to finish. We are distressed to hear there was no cell service! There was service on our network the last time we checked. Some networks even enable internet access on smart phones from our location. We will check on this issue and post new information.

the perfect private spot at the end of a street. No internet, no cell phone, no cable=no interruptions. The cabin is clean and no frills. Great space for family or couple looking to get away. The few people we did see were extremely friendly and helpful. If you are looking to get away from the noise of life, this is the perfect place.

We had the most amazing time at Richard's wonderful cottage. Most of our drive back to the city was spent discussing how we can make it up there more often. I cannot recommend this more. You will not be disappointed. The lake is a one minute walk from the front door and our dog, Bella had a wonderful time playing in the water. I recommend hiking at Bash Bish Falls and October Mountain State Forest. Marty and Jim's makes amazing sandwiches and John Andrews is a lovely, romantic spot for dinner. Also, make sure you take a trip to Furnace Winery and try the cider donuts! Though the "very difficult" hike there is more of a stroll, it's still beautiful. Thank you, Richard! We can't wait to come back!

Very nice simple cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Clean and convenient. Kayaks were a plus. The kitchen had great basics and the overall experience was a great deal for the price. Convenient to many Berkshire events and places.

We arrived at the lovely lakeside cottage as evening fell. Richard and Leslie had left ginger beer in the fridge to quench our thirst and a lovely organic dark chocolate bar as well! The lake is just steps away and the cozy cabin was stocked with old movies and books. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfy. The screened in porch had a nice breeze and the lake was beautiful. When we had a question, Richard was super accessible. I highly recommend this airbnb for anyone visiting Great Barrington who wants a delightful contrast to the also delightful small town.
