A large and comfortable 4-bed/2 bathroom/2 living room house perfect for couples or families, just a few minutes from the bay (can be seen from the garden), and less than 1 km from the beach. Angle is a super friendly village with a microclimate similar to Cornwall, and has a pub, a licensed beach café, access to the coastal path, and many attractions nearby. We sleep from 1 to 8 + a baby. Out of season the peace & quiet and hi-speed wi-fi are perfect for catching up on some work too!

The space
Anchor Cottage is a large semi-detached house in Angle Village, with accommodation for up to 8 guests, plus a baby, and parking for 2-3 vehicles on our private driveway. The house was fully renovated 6 years ago, and has a fresh, modern décor with a seaside and country theme, which we keep updated regularly.
The large entrance lobby has plenty of space for boots, coats or pushchairs, and this leads through to our large open plan living /dining/ kitchen. This room has hardwood floors for easy care and comfort.
The large kitchen area is well fitted, and has an induction hob, newly fitted oven, coffee machine, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine and retro-style Gorenje fridge with freezer compartment.
The dining table extends to seat 8, with 8 dining chairs provided, plus we supply a folding baby seat that can be attached to a chair. French doors lead to the rear garden, and can be opened wide on a hot summer day.
The living area has a 3-4 seater sofa, a large pouffe proving seating for 2, and an armchair, a TV with amazon firestick and a DVD player. There is also a bookcase with a good selection of books, plus family games stored in the TV unit.
The inner living room is carpeted to give a cosy space to relax, with a 2-seater and a 3-seater sofa and two armchairs, and features a Samsung 3-d Smart TV with Freesat, and a cupboard with jigsaw puzzles and children's toys. Gated stairs lead to the bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor.
Main bedroom has a king-size bed, and an en-suite shower room.
Bedroom 2 has been freshly decorated for 2020, and features a double bed and plenty of space for a travel cot (provided, but you will need to bring your own bedding for this).
Bedroom 3 has also been freshly decorated for 2020 and has a double bed.
Bedroom 4 has full adult size bunk beds.
Family bathroom with wave-shaped bath and shower.
Free high-speed Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the house and we have plenty of sockets to plug in laptops/ gaming equipment/ chargers etc.!
Oil-fired central heating and double glazing ensures the house is warm and comfortable all year round. Large secure gardens to the front and the rear, with sea and countryside views, garden furniture, 2 patio areas, a fire pit and a built-in barbecue. The rear garden is fenced and hedged for privacy and for safety for your small children.
All beds are made up for your arrival, with high quality bedding.
There is a pub in the village within 500 yards of the cottage, which serves meals and is family-friendly, and there is a hotel just across the street which serves lunches to non-residents. There is also a licenced beach café at West Angle Beach (limited opening hours out of season) serving great coffee and lunches as well as a take-out service.
Dogs are very welcome - but please note this is a family home, so it is very important that all mess is cleared from the garden before you leave! The fence at the bottom of the garden is only around 4ft high, and sheep are kept in the field behind us - for most dogs this is not a problem, but best to be aware in case it might be for your pet.

PLEASE NOTE: We only take full week bookings in the main school summer holiday, which displays a little oddly on this site, appearing as if only the Saturdays are available - please click on the start and end dates to find the availability and prices for a full week!

Guest access
Guests have use of the whole house without restriction, and all heating, electricity and Wi-Fi access is included. Guests may use both the front and rear gardens and the barbecue, and there is off-road parking for 2-3 cars, however the garage and garden outbuildings are not currently accessible.

Other things to note
We have been Certified as Covid-19 Confident by the AA, and have Visit Wales Good-to-Go Certification, to give you peace of mind that we are fully compliant with all current recommendations in our cleaning protocols.
All bookings must be compliant with the latest Covid-19 restrictions as laid out by the Welsh Government.

Location

Angle, United Kingdom

Angle Village is located on the Angle peninsula and has East Angle Bay with many fishing and leisure craft moored (also a fabulous spot for bird watching, and for crabbing) at one end of the village, and West Angle Beach at the other. The beach is sandy and gently sloping, making it perfect for young children, plenty of rock pools to explore too, particularly at low tide, and there are good sheltered areas to one side, useful on a windy day!
If you want to explore further afield, there are many attractions in the area within a 30 minute drive, including Oakwood, Tenby, Dinosaur World etc.

I love travelling myself, and generally prefer to stay in a house or apartment rather than a hotel when staying for more than a night or two, so I know the standard that we need to attain in our own holiday rental to ensure that when guests arrive they are impressed, and will enjoy their stay. I am a relatively young grandmother with 7 grandchildren, and am far from being retired - I am an Antiques Dealer, so travel extensively to Fairs around the UK buying and selling, and we also have space in an Antiques Centre in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. This of course also enables us to find some super items to furnish our holiday home! As our grandchildren frequently stay at our house in Angle, it is well equipped for young children, and has plenty of space for them to run around outdoors in safety. We keep a collection of toys there, and there are always buckets and spades, fishing nets, crab lines and a ball or two available. I like reading - mostly literary fiction or crime (there is always a full bookshelf at the house), spending time with the grandchildren, creating items with textiles (everything from a pin cushion to children's clothes to curtains), and have a vast collection of vintage and antique buttons....they are supposed to be for sale, but I don't like parting with them!
