Description

The space

The furniture in the house is in beautiful condition and of excellent taste. The wooden floors in the lounge and dining room are shiny and lovely, and the kitchen has good cutlery and crockery in it. The lounge can comfortably accommodate about 7 people, and the inside and outside dining tables can seat 6 people. It has everything you need to be comfortable.

Guest access

Guests will have to park their cars in the public parking on the cul-de-sac, and walk up 120 steps to the house. There is no access by car to the house. The views and the quiet once you are at the house make it worth it!

Interaction with guests

I will be able to assist (at the very least via cellphone) for the duration of your stay with any queries relating to the house or the area.

The neighbourhood

The neighbourhood has a wonderful community feel. Lots of people also come here and to Kalk Bay from all over on weekends and holidays to walk along the sea, swim in the tidal pools or on the beaches, eat in the cafe's and bakeries, and browse the shops. Its a fantastic place to be based - and either to stay and enjoy the area, or to explore Cape Town from here.

Getting around

The St James train station is 500m away, which takes you either to the city centre of Cape Town, or all the way to Simonstown. Otherwise there are always Ubers close by and of course other taxi services can be booked too. The best thing is that you can walk to do wonderful things- such as walk on the seaside boulevard to Muizenberg beach for a surf or stand-up-paddle board lesson, to Dangers Beach directly down the hill from the house (3mins walk), or into Kalk Bay to restaurants or shops.

Other things to note

-The 120 steps up from the road where you must park are important to note. -There is also no TV (unless you specifically request it- then we can hire one for you) and no microwave.
- there is a totally separate flatlet on the lower ground floor of the house that is rented out to another lovely tenant. This tenant has NO access to the main house and can not see into it at all - so your privacy in the main house will not be affected at all.
