About this listing
Walking distance from Jiaotong University metro stop and direct subway access to Fudan. Located on the border of the French Concession in a local Chinese neighborhood; 2-3 metro stops from major business and nightlife areas.
Quiet, spacious room with easy access to the street and a well-equipped kitchen. There is also a friendly orange tabby who spends much of her days sleeping on chairs or gazing meditatively out the window. The living room has a comfortable couch that is good to sleep on--but not to look at!
Guests have access to the kitchen, bathroom, living room, laundry space, and of course their room.
Interaction with guests
We are available to answer any questions before or during the stay about the city, the neighborhood, or anything else China-related. We both work during the day, but our hours and days off are flexible if guests need help with arranging travel etc.
Other things to note
Our cat is very friendly and sleeps in the laundry nook at night, so there is no need to worry about her trying to open your door at 3am. If you leave your door open, she will wander in for a prolonged visit. If you will be staying in China long-term and need to register with the police, we can help you with that.
-No drug use
-No loud music after 10pm: this is a family-heavy neighborhood
-Wash dishes after use
-Respect the cat and our belongings
-Please ask before using our groceries
-Turn off your AC/ heat when you leave for the day

Originally from New York, but currently living in Shanghai, China, I love to travel, eat delicious food, and learn about history. When I am not working I do ceramics and cook. I read a lot and look for recommendations everywhere I go. I love meeting new people and growing my community around the world. When I travel I love to dive into the history of the area and learn everything I can about what life is like there.
