The space

Note: Please write me first before you make a reservation request! I really appreciate it because it gives the best chance for all of us to find out what we need to know.

Your own private suite: bedroom, bathroom, separate office area with wi-fi, bookshelves, desk. On main floor of gorgeous 3400 s.f. home overlooking Puget Sound. Unobstructed forever views of the Olympic Mountains, Bainbridge and Vashon Islands and the Kitsap Peninsula.

The well-stocked kitchen is shared, and you are welcome to enjoy the spacious common areas, the large west-facing deck – and the aforementioned unobstructed views.

This is a beautiful, quiet setting up a lane in the big trees, yet minutes' walk to the vibrant beachfront neighborhood of Alki Beach (Seattle's version of Venice Beach). We neighbors talk about how we feel like we're on vacation here, but we're right in the city!

It's 20 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes to downtown Seattle or SoDo or Beacon Hill and First Hill (if you're associated with the medical centers or VA). It's 25 minutes to the University of Washington (and I can tell you the best routes, I work there).

There is a water taxi straight to downtown Seattle, served by a shuttle.
Not to discourage you from staying here, but "truth in advertising," if you're not driving you have to like walking hills! Public transportation is three or five blocks away. You may be happier with a car if you'll be here awhile.

If your party is more than 2 people, go ahead and ask me about the availability of the whole main house, which would sleep 5. That still assumes some of you would be sleeping together, I do not have five separate beds or bedrooms. If you have up to 9 people, you could rent the whole house as well as the separate Apartment-in-the-Trees, which is also listed here. I wish I were retired and/or traveling all the time so you could have my house to yourselves. Usually I live here too. But, as I said, go ahead and ask!

House Rules
No smoking

Please contact me before you make a reservation.

The main house rule is the Golden Rule. I'm still practicing but am pretty good at it and hope you are too.

Here's an example: If you are having overnight guests yourself/ves, I would like to know that.
Another example: There's room in the driveway for three cars. If you're having guests, let me know and I'll show you where I park when I have guests!

Judith is more than a hostess but like a friend of mine. I didn't meet her this time but I'm sure I'll be back again soon. It is the second time I stay in this house.Just trust me,everything here is prefect.

Our first Airbnb experience. We would definitely do it again. It was a refreshing change from a hotel. The house was a fun eclectic atmosphere and the view was amazing.

Judith was fantastic. I booked the space for my parents so they would be near us in West Seattle. The place is beautiful, Judith was charming and very sweet and the view was amazing. Highly recommend it.

Staying at Judith's place just made my trip to Seattle even more memorable! Her place looks exactly as the photos listed on Airbnb and Judith is very considerate and kind-hearted, always providing her guests with assistance and great advices upon needs. During my stay, we actually got to know each other, and the way she treated you is like a good friend of yours, welcoming and making you feel at home. The Alki neighbourhood, situated at west Seattle is very nice and safe, with easy access to Alki beach and around 15 minutes drive to downtown, 25 minutes drive from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. It is better to rent a car and drive if you were staying at Judith's place. I didn't so basically I used uber to get anywhere. Love her place and the whole experience here! I will definitely try to come back with my friends. Thanks so much, Judith. x

This was the perfect place for our stay. We had a volleyball tournament at Alki Beach and we were only a half mile away. Judith was great, she was flexible and adjusted to our situation for us. It was wonderful to get to know her. She is very personable and takes great interest in her guests. We had some interesting conversations and got to know each other very well. The home was wonderful, had the most beautiful view of the sound, the islands and the activities on the water. Sitting on her deck was peaceful and relaxing. I would recommend Judith and her wonderful home to anyone wanting to experience West Seattle and this area. It was easy to get around and close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay with Judith!

Judith User ProfileJudith is a superhost.

Airbnb is a way to have a houseful, which is what I like.

Ever since I was a kid doing sleepovers to my first job out of college as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Turkey all through my long and longer life, I've loved every place I've ever visited. So maybe that's why I want to return all the great hospitality I've received.

These days I'm a realtime captioner for hard of hearing. Which means I go to classes, meetings, conferences with students (or staff or faculty) primarily at the University of Washington and write live everything being said so the student can read it on my computer screen as it's happening. You've seen closed captioning on TV? It's like that, only I'm there live on site. Love my job. It's challenging (that is to say, hard) and can be stressful, but I am glad to be a vehicle for access to education and the workplace that people wouldn't have without that service. The service is provided under auspices of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

There are so many things to do in Seattle, and I am happy to give you information and ideas for your stay -- or just get out of your way and let you have at it!
