The space

Welcome to our home! It's a 3 bedroom (2 queen beds and 1 full bed), 3.5 bath Capitol Hill row house. It has an open concept first floor with a recently renovated kitchen and a basement suite. We love and care for it well and hope you will too!

Our 100-year old home was recently renovated. Beyond a comfortable interior space, it has a great front porch with two rocking chairs, a small backyard with off-street parking and is a 1.5 block walk to the metro (orange, blue, and silver lines).

You will have access to all three floors of our home- the open-concept first floor, the second floor with 2 bedrooms (queen beds) and 2 baths, and the basement suite with an additional bedroom (full bed). The house comfortably sleeps 6 people in beds. We are excited to have you stay in our home and enjoy the nation's Capitol.

My husband and I are a call away if you need assistance during your stay.

Our neighborhood is situated on the eastern side of Capitol Hill. This neighborhood is very residential and quite diverse. We are a 1.5 block walk from the metro (orange, blue and silver lines which all run through downtown and the blue lines runs to DCA airport). We are an 8 minute walk from Lincoln Park, a 10-15 minute walk from Eastern Market and Barracks Row, and a 20 minute walk from the Capitol and National Mall. Eastern Market (URL HIDDEN) has a great open-air produce and flea market on Saturdays and Sundays (definitely worth a walk and visit with a coffee in hand). Barracks Row has become a mecca for hot new restaurants, including Rose's Luxury (URL HIDDEN) which was rated the best new restaurant in the country in 2014 by Bon Appetit. In our home, we have included a binder with our favorite neighborhood attractions as well as a "must-see" list for the city.

As previously mentioned, our home is 1.5 blocks from the Stadium Armory metro (orange, blue, and sliver lines). To give an estimate, riding the metro to the National Mall takes about 10 minutes. Our home also has off-street parking and a on-street parking pass so if you'd like to drive, parking at our home is free for up to two cars. If the weather is nice, you can also bike the city. Renting a bike through the Capital Bikeshare costs $8 a day or $17 for a three day pass. We have a pick-up and drop-off station 1.5 blocks from our home. Read more here- (URL HIDDEN)

House Rules

1. Please care for our home as you would your own.
2. Please remove your shoes when inside the house. We take great care to preserve our hardwood floors.
3. We do a thorough professional clean between each guest's stay, but we kindly ask that prior to leaving, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware and put dirty linens at the bottom of the basement stairs. It helps us get through our cleaning process quicker and allows us to keep cleaning costs down for you and future guests.

Everything was just as I expected it to be and the ease of check-in/out made it feel like it was home for us as well. It's a great family-friendly neighborhood, safe for strolling and exploring the city. Seems far distance-wise from the monuments and museums, but my girls and I found that the walk from Jacqueline's place to the National Mall wasn't bad because there are many shops, restaurants and coffee spots to check out along the way.

Jacquie's home is incredibly well maintained, decorated and the renovation was top notch. It was so well decorated, cozy and gorgeous that now my wife wants me to actually finish our home. It's like renting a pottery barn or west elm catalog home and actually getting to live in it for a little while. All the beds were comfy and linens were nice. The basement apartment worked well for us since we had two couples and our kids were upstairs with the other couple down stairs. The neighborhood is nice and the walk to the metro is super easy. There aren't a whole lot of restaurants, bars or coffee shops nearby. But the kitchen has everything you need and a grocery store is 1/2 mile away. All in all it was a fabulous stay. I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't 32 degrees and walking places was easier, but hey no one can control the weather. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again when in The D.C. Area, especially if you don't want to be downtown.

Wonderful home! This was our first Airbnb and I'm not sure we'll ever find another so nice. The home is a 3 floor townhouse in a residential neighborhood close to a metro station and a quick Uber ride to all museums/monuments. The owners have renovated the home beautifully and it is elegant and comfortable with three spacious bedrooms and three private bathrooms. It was so nice to have a lovely kitchen and living room to use during our long weekend in DC rather than staying in a hotel room. The owners gave us lots of tips on restaurants and things to do and were quick to reply to our questions. Having parking for our car (2 spaces available) was also very useful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this home highly to others.

The Hill home was absolutely beautiful. The home has been renovated and every detail taken into account. The beds and sheets were incredibly comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. The parking space behind the house makes such a difference because you never have to worry about parking. I highly recommend the house if staying in DC.

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful weekend in DC. The home is beautiful and exactly as pictured. We used the owner's restaurant recommendations and loved all of our meals. Jacquie was a wonderful host and ensured that we felt at home for our stay. I would recommend without reservation!
