Best location in all of Bend! Walk out the door to the Deschutes River Trail for a morning hike, afternoon float or picnic. Enjoy the tranquility of this quiet, wooded neighborhood while still being less than 1 mile from Old Mill Shops & Restaurants.
I purchased this 1/3 acre property about 4 years ago because I think it is the best location in Bend. The neighborhood is incredibly quiet, yet close to everything. The river is 1/10 of a mile away and I can hear it from my open windows in the summer. My home sits behind a massive volcanic rock, which acts as a natural barrier to the casita.
The casita is a 535 SF, one bedroom, one bath with high ceilings in the living area. Finished with all colored concrete floors helps keep allergens to a minimum. The kitchen has everything you need, including a mini dishwasher. There is a washer/dryer set in the bathroom. If there is anything else you need, just ask.
Sleep comfortably in the queen Simmons Beautyrest pillow top mattress in the bedroom. For additional guests, there is a new LA-Z Boy couch with a queen sized air mattress that is actually very comfortable.
There is a TV in the living area. There is no cable, but there is an HD antennae which gets the major networks: CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, and local news. Netflix and DVD's are also provided or bring your own.
There is a private patio surrounded by the huge volcanic rock with a small patio table and chairs, BBQ and fire pit.
While this property is not ADA approved, it is a single level home with only one step on the patio and one step at the entrance.
The entire home and patio is yours to enjoy. A lock box and code will be provided so you can arrive at any hour. There are two off-street parking spaces located across the driveway from the front door which are marked with a sign "Casita parking". Please park in these spaces. Bringing your own recreational gear? You will find an 8' X 12' storage shed right next to your parking area for your bikes, skis, kayaks, paddle boards or fishing poles. Lock & key provided.
Interaction with guests
Since I live on the property, I can be available to help most of the time. I am happy to provide information and insider tips for those interested. For those who prefer more privacy and less interaction with a host, the layout of this property is well suited for that.
Other things to note
You are welcome to borrow the 2 cruiser bikes I have available to ride to the Old Mill or downtown. You need to sign a waiver in the notebook before riding. There are a few helmets to choose from, but I'd recommend bringing your own if you have one. Locks are provided also.
Short Term Rental Operating License Number: STR-15-0166
Please be respectful of neighbors by keeping noise down before 8 am and after 10 pm. Please park in the designated off-street parking area and make sure your car is not blocking my driveway access. There is absolutely no smoking anywhere in or on this property.

I love the outdoors and all that Bend has to offer, which is why I built my home across the street from the river, yet close to town. I teach Spanish at a high school in Bend and feel fortunate to have been able to raise my two kids here. I love to bike, hike, SUP, ski, travel and meet new people. Some of my favorite trips have been to Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, Italy and Australia.
