Beautiful condominium apartment in a brand new building. We are on the 2nd floor ( no elevator) of a brand new building in a court yard.

The space

North End, Luxury Condo apartment on the second floor ( no elevator) of a brand new building.
Our North End vacation home was designed to make us feel like we are staying in a 5 star luxury hotel... it will make you feel that way too. Located in Boston's historic North End and just steps away from the Waterfront, Rose Kennedy Greenway, Freedom Trail, Paul Revere's house & the Old North Church, Boston Garden, Faneuil Hall & Haymarket and Boston Harbor walk ... in the heart of everything. Our home is hidden down a private way leading to a brick courtyard with a bubbling fountain through a passageway lit by lanterns reminiscent of the days of Paul Revere. There is no location anywhere like this in the North End. It offers a remarkably quiet & private retreat from the bustle of city – while putting you within walking distance of all that the North End has to offer.

The apartment has French doors opening to hand made wrought iron Juliette balconies, solid hardwood white oak flooring, stainless steel appliances, central air conditioning, wi-fi, cable. The bathroom has a walk-in, glass enclosed shower w/ spray. There are no hotels in the North End, which is the oldest neighborhood in Boston, but a stay in our home at Walsh Place on Clark will make you feel like you checked into a luxurious, boutique European hotel.
This is a great place to enjoy for 2 people so they will be comfortable. We allow in certain circumstances 3 but we need to be requested first and we will make the decision of accepting or rejecting the request.
* For weekly and monthly stays we prefer party of 2 people the most (We reserve the right to review the number of guests before accepting any reservation) Please don't submit the reservation before consulting the numbers people/night. Thank you

So waiting for checking in or checking out in the patio or for storing luggage is not allowed.

Interaction with guests

I like to meet my guests and welcome them at the apartment as much as time allows me. Usually I greets them when they arrive so I can answer to other questions they might have and give them tips about the location and other useful tips.

Other things to note

We are in a quiet community. We kindly ask to our guests to be respectful of the neighbors and the buildings keeping noise down in the unit, building halls or in the patio. So please no running, jumping or any activity that might be disturbing to our neighbors. If we get notified unfortunately we will report the incident to Airbnb.

- Quiet building, please no loud noises, specially between 7p.m and 8a.m. No parties allowed or event. No shoes at the apartment. No running or jumping, exercising or strendous noises. NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND ( we will charge you the whole security deposit if found out that there was smoking in the premises) and will notify the site about it.
The patio is for used only of the owners. No rental guests will be allowed to use it. Be aware that there are video security cameras that face the patio and entrance that will capture any images of people breaking those rules.
Please note that we will send after confirmation of booking a contract with the total rules of our condo/ condo association. We will send that via personal e-mail. Those are details ( private details of our building) and therefore we will send them privately.

Please respect our rules and the condominium rules.

This condo is in an ok location. It isn't central but it isn't a far walk to most places. The condo is nice inside, appears to be recently updated. We had enough room and were comfortable inside the condo. However we had a few issues with our stay. First issue is that with our original conversation with the host she acted as if she was doing us a favor allowing us to stay here. Which is odd, this wasn't the best place but we didn't want to spend much time looking and it looked good enough. Second issue was that she seemed stressed or concerned with folks staying at her place. Which is odd, why offer your place on Airbnb if you are afraid that folks will want to stay. Third issue, and feedback to the host, is that the doors are complicated. The front door has a combination keypad but requires a physical key. It doesn't auto lock when closed but requires pressing keypad buttons and using the physical lock. Host needs to look into simplifying this. The door to the condo door is much easier, it's a keypad and locks when you shut the door. Fourth issue, the host didn't have a key policy and we misplaced the key on the last day. We contacted the host and she didn't offer a replacement but was more concerned about the HOA/Condo association being upset with her because she is renting her place and this might make them concerned/upset/or prevent her from renting in the future. This explains the observation of the host appearing to be stressed having folks in her place. So without a key replacement we were trapped in the condo until we left for the airport. Not a total loss but we did lose about 6 hours of our vacation which included a networking breakfast that we won't get back. A simplified key system, third issue, could have made this a non-issue. In addition to not offering a solution for the misplaced key, she tried to get $490 for a replacement key. Her itemized list included $230 for having the key replaced, and $260 for having her property manager stay the day at the condo. Her key was not special and could have been replaced at ay key shop. She included “I’m guessing” in her itemized list for her request for money which doesn’t give me a lot of confidence that her request for money was well thought out. The average price of a new key is $12 including getting the lock rekeyed and takes 10 minutes. The host then threatened additional fees for delaying this payment. Conclusion: the host passes on her stress and concerns to the folks that stay in her condo. I do not recommend this host to continue renting on Airbnb if it is going to cause this stress for her renters. I also recommend anyone looking to stay here demand that the physical key be replaced with a keypad code or alternative...

It is true that we were doing a favor to My by letting her rent our apartment. Our brand new multi-million renovated building has large triple-wide French doors leading to a wrought-iron balcony. We are concerned the 2nd & 3rd floor apartments might be dangerous for kids... so we told My repeatedly that we would not rent her the apartment. We stood by our rule that we don't rent to families with young children - for safety reasons. But My begged and begged repeatedly, asking us to break our own rules for her. What we didn't share with her was that we were also reluctant because she seemed somehow mentally imbalanced. Nevertheless, we let her persistence get the better of our judgement... and agreed to rent her one of our new apartments. For other AirBnB hosts, a couple things you should be aware of: - AirBnb has opened a case against My in their resolution center because of the serious security issue caused by her losing a building key - After losing the apartment building key, My informed no one, and left the building unlocked for an entire evening before telling our co-host about the situation - Our co-host tells us she received relentless, repeated calls about how to do just about everything in the apartment… even after she was greeted in person and shown how to use everything in the apartment - After checkout, we found My left us baby-puke on the stools and floor by the breakfast bar. What is confusing to us is HOW she lost the key we gave her which unlocks the main door into the apartment building, since our property manager and our condo neighbor both told us that while visiting Boston, My never left the apartment. Anyway, she did lose a Medco, non-reproducible key, somewhere in Boston... and that loss affects the security of all the apartments in our complex. Because of her losing that key, we had to replace all the lock cylinders for the entire building and distribute new keys to every tenant in the building. It was expensive to re-key the entire building, but we have a responsibility to our neighbors and our future guests to make sure they are not living in an apartment building with an unaccounted-for key somewhere in the city.

Very pleasant experience. Central location. Walk distance to many places in downtown. Clean and comfortable. Many popular Italian restaurants nearby. Caroline was easy to communicate with. She always responded promptly. She gave me very useful info about restaurants and coffee shop. Definitely recommend this place.

Apartment is in the most lively, fun, restaurant-packed neighborhood (Little Italy - the garlic and al fresco dining will draw you in!) that we found in Boston! The added plus is that it is tucked away in a beautiful, serene courtyard. An immaculately clean, most comfortable, and smartly designed one bedroom, which is suitable for adults with no children, as the neighbors are all working professionals and it is incredibly quiet. Owners are super to communicate with. Caroline met us and explained in detail the workings of apartment. It also has washer and dryer, which was such a treat! We will definitely rent from Caroline again when we return to Boston!
