Spacious apartment in a palace of Guardia Sanframondi historical center. In front of the Sanctuary's square, you can walk and visit the center of Guardia and view the breathtaking panorama of the Solopaca valley in front. Just renovated, keeping the historic and original elements of the building, such as wooden beamed ceilings and stone walls.
Comfortable for couples or families.

The space

The apartment has been restructured so to preserve all the ancient features, though it has all modern facilities (kitchen, bathroom, hot water, TV). It is a romantic place for couples, but also adapt for families with children.

Other things to note

The apartment is in the centre of Guardia, but it has a comfortable car parking.

We loved this air bnb... there was 2 adults staying here and we had way more then enough room. Very spacious. We had a short trip, but it comes up a full size kitchen/fridge/stove which would have come in handy for a longer trip. The stone arches and wood beams in the ceiling are beautiful and remind you how old the town is. We wish we had more time here... I think most people visiting Guardia know what kind of town they are visiting, but if not, be sure to bring compfy walking shoes. A lot of stairs and a lot of hills (makes it a lovely medieval town). Carlo was a very understanding host and accommodated our check in and check outs perfectly.

The accommodation is reasonably accurately described. Although the description states that it is suitable for couples or families I would hesitate to recommend to a family mainly due to the following practicalities: The hot water boiler capacity is extremely small. With adequate hot water for one shower, possibly two although the second one might be less than hot. There is no wifi so internet access is through your own phone/network provider. This is patchy with both Vodafone and TIM/Wind (Italian networks) and the only place we were able to receive network coverage was by the kitchen window. The kitchen is modern and fairly spacious, however it lacks certain items such as a bread knife and bread/chopping board. When traveling it is often necessary to wash at least some small items of clothing. However there is no washing machine or even anywhere to hang 'smalls' out to dry should you wish to hand wash small items. The only real window with natural light is in the kitchen - one has the sensation of being in a cave or a cellar. If natural is important to you then this is not the place for you. Having said all of the above the location is very quaint, right in the heart of the village and next to the church. The church bells are literally a stones throw across the square (these can be disturbing in the mornings as they ring at 7:30am for the daily call to mass). The apartment is described as wheelchair accessible - There are 26 steps from the small piazza to the apartment. There are also 2 steps from the front entrance into the living area and a further 2 small steps into the bedroom/bathroom area. The reason I point this out is that the apartment comes equipped with a 'disabled' toilet. This facility is the most uncomfortable toilet imaginable. I am 5ft 5" (168cms) and yet my feet barely touched the ground. The seat is a ‘U’ shape with an opening at the front. The shower entrance has a 'lip' (runner for the doors) - I imagine that this would make it difficult for people with some physical disabilities to enter the shower. The host was very prompt with enquiries and the key handover went very smoothly. A welcome bottle of wine and water were left in the fridge for which we were very grateful.

We were drawn to Guardia since my ancestors were originally from the town. The apartment is beautiful and newly renovated. It's in the old part of town and has old world charm. It is a spacious unit with a view of the Basilica di S.Maria Assunta e S.Filippo Neri and the valley. Carlo was great to communicate with. He was there to meet us when we arrived and had friends close by that could help us throughout our trip. He was kind enough to wait with an umbrella to show us how to get to the parking area just down the stairs from the apartment. He had a bottle of wine, water and juice for our arrival. We absolutely loved staying here experiencing the old village with the ability to walk through the old stairways up to shops and restaurants. A spa is under construction only a few feet away from Carlo's door.

Appartamento nel cuore del caratteristico centro storico, appena ristrutturato in chiave moderna senza snaturare i particolari storici dell'edificio. Un mix tra passato e presente, accogliente, arredato con gusto e attenzione al dettaglio. Host disponibile, cordiale e discreto.
