One of the oldest dwellings in Lewisburg (1795), in excellent condition, airy and light-filled, looking out at the river from our front porch. Backyard with two arbors and a barbecue. A five-minute walk to the shops and restaurants on Market Street.
Please note: we do not provide parking, this is in-town, so you park on the street in front of the house or nearby. VERY IMPORTANT: do not leave your car on South Water Street after 7 AM on Mondays--they sometimes tow! Move around the corner.
We thank Airbnb for introducing their Living Wage pledge. We could not make this home available without Denise, who prepares before each guest and makes it a lovely place to stay. We have made the commitment that she will be paid fairly for her work, which should be everyone's right.
You can access everything (front and back yards, the porch) with two small exceptions: the basement is locked, and we have blocked off a small back room on the second floor, as storage.
Interaction with guests
We are not nearby but provide emergency contact numbers, including a neighbor. We are very available by email and text.
Other things to note
As already noted, parking is on the street only, although we have never had a problem finding space. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR ON STREET AFTER 7 AM ON MONDAY! They sometimes tow for street cleaning.
No parties, no smoking, no pets, those are absolutes.
No more than four unrelated adults, please, without prior agreement.
This is the family home of a Bucknell University professor, which his three sons are maintaining. It has been in our family since 1963, and we take good care of it. It's a five minute walk to the shops and restaurants on Market Street, and for breakfast you can stroll across the bridge at the head of South Water Street to May's Drive-In, just across the river. The house has a backyard with two patios and arbors, and a big Weber grill for barbecuing. The kitchen is spacious, and it has an old-fashioned "mudroom" as a back porch. We like to sit on the front porch when the weather is warm, and have coffee looking at the river flow by.
