The space

Quiet, peaceful, lots of wildlife on the property, great views! A great place to getaway, read, sit on the deck, go for a hike, pick wild black-raspberries, local cherries, plums, apricots, apples, when in season...visit the goat farm in Strawberry and get some fresh goat or cow's milk.

Homeowner lives in attached apt/converted garage and lowest of 3 stories; has a small, sweet little older doggie - always a 'hit' for all who meet him.

Other things to note

This a 'mountain' home, no central A/C for summers; usually not needed, but on hot days, we recommend working with the outside temps by: opening all windows in evenings and sleeping with bedroom doors open to allow air flow/breeze, and once sun is over the Rim in the morning, close east blinds and all windows to keep the cabin cool in the daytime. There are 5-6 portable room fans to move and use as you wish.
Fireplace in living room main level is available for your use; please bring your own firewood (there is some for sale one mile away at the Texaco).
R/O drinking water at kitchen sink, but for large groups please use our empty 5 gallon bottles and fill up at the Texaco R/O machines; please do NOT bring cases of plastic water bottles -- as we are an earth-friendly people :).

Our family enjoyed our stay in Pine. The place was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the nice deck and the beautiful views. We saw Elk and deer in the front yard which was exciting.

We really enjoyed our time here. In the morning we were overjoyed to be joined by 20-30 female elk and their young. The magnificent buck made his appearance that evening. A very relaxing time was enjoyed by all in our party. Check in was easy and we really enjoyed our stay. Even though we were in a community of cabins we still felt like we were away from it all.

The on-site resident is very kind and shares the main-floor bathroom with guests. (Which could be a bit surprising as long as guests can accommodate this semi-unusual arrangement.) The location is phenomonal. Many deer and a cow elk was seen. It is quiet with minimal light pollution for star-gazing. The sheets may not have been cleaned prior to our stay as some were duty had an human secretions in them.
