Interaction with guests
Languages spoken: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian and a little German.
We are mostly traveling on business but when are around we are always glad to help our guests with common questions they may have about the city and the area, we also enjoy hanging out with them in the kitchen and on occasion going out to tour Wynwood, a jazz club or to any other cool area in town since we feel we are tourists ourselves in a continuously changing Miami, a dynamic town that attracts non-stop visitors, artists and investors alike from all over the world.
Biscayne Park is a lush village considered to be a bird sanctuary as well. Its streets will make you feel you are walking in a tropical park, residents are kind and quiet, you will see them walking their dogs, jogging, riding bikes or strolling with their kids any time of the day... and night since it is very safe! We have our own police station, so the hood is patrolled 24/7, there is the Ed Burke park where you can go work out or just chill watching kids play basketball or toddlers run around the playgrounds. It is truly one of my favorite places when I am in Miami :)
If you have a car you can park it in our driveway, parking is free in the whole hood. There are a few Metrobus lines (URL HIDDEN) also running north-south and for about $2.50 you can get to the Aventura Mall north, or downtown Miami south (notice that you may have to purchase your bus pass at a supermarket or other store before taking the bus). You can also transfer at the Omni Station to go East to South Beach or at Government Center, downtown Miami, to go pretty much anywhere else, notice though, that public transportation in Miami may not be reliable so you may be better off renting an inexpensive car at Alamo or any other low cost car-rentals.
Other things to note
We normally stay on the left half of the house while you will be staying on the right, the property is about 2000 sq feet so there is plenty of space and privacy for all! The kitchen is the meeting point for all of us, conversation and food preparation flows nicely and warms up our home.
We welcome guests that are independent-minded, respectful, able to maintain cleanliness, and silence at night, chilled world-travelers with whom we can share travel experiences and exchange info about cool places. Smoking and pets are not allowed in the perimeters of the property, moderate to low alcohol contents are tolerated.
World-travelers, free-spirited kitesurfer and motocross biker, language interpreter and business developers who enjoy meeting cool people to share a meal, exchange experiences, or just chill under the moon in tropical Miami. Some of our favorite countries are NZ, Portugal, Thailand, Brazil, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic; and our preferred towns include London, Buenos Aires, Lima, Santiago, Lisboa, Panama City and Cabarete. We love music, art, nature, cooking and dining out... did I forget to mention traveling? ;) We both embrace the middle ages principle of always giving travelers a place to stay and a meal to eat.
